Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Kitchener

All fast food places suffer bieng formulaic and this franchise is focused on the school population (Conestoga College) nearby as witnessed by its hours of 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Having noted that, perhaps this is why this franchise is coasting on an almost guaranteed clientele.

The problem with this attitude of success without effort or maintaining standards leads to the condition of this establishment.

The first thing of note is the condition of the washroom. The sink has an actual stain as if hundreds of people have used the sink by filling it to wash and creating the line as witnessed by the photos I took.

I ate in the restaurant and noted the following:

insects lying dead on the facia under the outside facing the windows. Obvious dust and this surface was not clean. -Tables scuffed and repaired with tape used to tape paper together in an office environment "Scotch Tape". Floor in customer area not clean and obvious dirt and debris on floor, under tables. The general condition of the rear food prep area. Not tidy and if the customer area is like the food prep area than cleanliness needs to be applied. Staff a bit unfocused. They worked together as 3 customers waited and seemed to be preoccupied with duties that may indicated that they were understaffed. The person serving me did a good job.

I won't be going back. The food was on spot but the environment and general passive nature of the staff towards the customer experience was very dissapointing.

I'd like to begin this review by saying I am not a picky eater and this is the first bad review I've left on a food place to date.

I'd like to start with the main issue I had, which was a food safety issue: my chicken was raw in one of my tenders. I ordered food to-go from this location today. When it arrived, I was surprised by the overtly under-fried chicken tenders (they were extremely light brown and others around me noticed it immediately as well), the tenders had no real seasoning in the batter and tasted almost like nothing, flavourless and stale fries, and a stale also lacking in flavour biscuit. I also got the wrong drink entirely. Quite literally everything about the chicken tender combo was terrible. I couldn't believe it.

I was going to let my experience go until I bit into the raw chicken tender, which is where I draw the line. Whoever oversees this place the plethora of issues I encountered means there's a deeper issue at hand you have to address. To the average customer: please avoid this place...

Hello, I understand how important customer reviews are for a restaurant, and I wanted to share what happened to my family after our recent visit. Last night, around 7 PM, I purchased 40 spicy chicken wings and 3 biscuits. My wife, my son, and I had the meal together. The biscuits were as good as always, but the chicken wings tasted off compared to what we’re used to. While I didn’t find the wings very good, my son said they were okay, so we went ahead and ate them.

This morning, both my son and I have been very sick and unable to leave the bathroom. My wife, who only had two wings, isn’t feeling as bad, but she’s not 100% either. The chicken wings were the only meal we all shared, and we believe we may have gotten food poisoning.

Please review the quality of your chicken and cooking oil for the safety of your other customers. This was a really unpleasant experience, especially happening on the eve of Thanksgiving.
