I have been going to this location ever since i was in middle school so around 8 years now. I have always studied here growing up through middle school, high school and university. It’s amazing and I have showed so many people around and have brought them here. I have never ever have had any problems. I recently went to this location on good friday with my friend to study for our exams. I recently introduced her to the study spot and she likes it so we went again. We order 3 Drinks which were amazing and we studied at one of the booths. When we first came in there was a group of maybe 8 people using up 4 small coffee seats to make a big table and the spot we usually sit in, the corner booth was reserved. We sat right beside the corner booth but we love sitting at the corner booth, i’ve certainly have always have. I went to order my 3rd drink and this guy, i believe him name is Nick. He had the worse attitude with me. I was waiting for my drink and my friend saw the corner booth was available and starts moving our stuff over and with a snobby attitude goes, “You guys are only studying so why are u sitting at the corner booth.” I say oh we came here a few days ago and we love sitting at the corner booth that’s all? and he goes “well it’s only for groups of 5 and over.” I say “ that’s weird cuz, one, the people who just reserved that seat only had a party of 3 and i always have sat at that booth and i’ve never have had any problems. And there’s people alone using up a whole booth and you aren’t telling them to move? He then goes on to say in these exact words “ well if i see a group of people, ill have no problem moving you guys.” …. Pardon? who feels comfortable saying that to anyone with a nasty attitude ??? I would’ve had no problem if he kindly said “sorry ma’am we have a new rule about the number of people who could sit at the corner booth.” we would’ve gladly moved. It was his attitude and way he was talking with me that completely threw me off. Later throughout the night he literally was eyeing us down i wish i was kidding. We were so respectful as well, we both had headphones on and order plenty of drinks and do our own thing and he only bothered us the entire time. I wish he could’ve been nicer about it, if that rule were true. I’ve attached pictures of others taking up a whole booth by themselves without him bothering them. So rude and i’ve never experienced this type of customer service especially somewhere i have gone for 8 years. Nick’s attitude and customer service is terrible. We will be going to the waterloo location for now on.

Muted chatter, the clinking of cups, and the gentle hum of the espresso machine - a good café never fails to uplift your mood. Hoping for a good cup of coffee, I visited Coffee Culture Café and Eatery (1 King St W, Kitchener, ON N2G 1A1). A cozy café and eatery specialising in coffee and breakfast foods, this place does live up to their claim of 'brewing each cup with a passion for quality' even if their food menu is slightly disappointing. The café latte I ordered made for the perfect start to the day - warm and utterly comforting, the blend of coffee beans, milk, and sugar was the best way to wake me up. However, the quality of the piri piri chicken wrap was wanting, especially considering the price charged. The piri piri sauce did not live up to my expectations of tangy and spicy, making for a rather bland meal that left me slightly unsatisfied. All things considered though, l'd still recommend the café for its beverages and its ambience. The area was warm and cozy with a gorgeous Christmas decor that definitely put me in the holiday spirit. If you're looking for a place for coffee, pastries, and a desk to study and/ or catch up with friends, l'd suggest a visit. Just be sure to order the food carefully. I had written a nice experience from last week, but after I revisited yesterday, I deleted my comments and am writing it again. I was surprised by the nice staff last week, but the owner who was working yesterday was the terrible person I had ever seen. The situation was we ordered our food and drinks and took a seat. The queue was long behind us. Our drinks and two of the orders were received. We waited for the other three orders. Meanwhile, we could see that the other customers who were after us received all their orders. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the owner came with one of the orders to us. I asked him why the other customers were served first, and he replied that they ordered simple foods that are not a problem at all to be served first. Whatever he is, an owner or a manager, he could just ask for a sorry for the delay, not a mean manner. He ruined our Saturday brunch what pissed me off. I lost my appetite and didn't touch my food. I thought I found a nice Café to enjoy our usual weekend's brunch, but I will never come back here. At least we can still go to the Boardwalk branch where the owner is friendly.

Not my experience but just saw a post on Facebook about this place and after reading it and the comments I felt the need to do this because this place is still in business and 10000% deserves to be out!!!!!!!

The post - “ Just had a super frustrating and disappointing experience at the coffee culture in DTK corner of King and Queen. Picked up a smoothie as I do usually a few times a week and when I got it home, my GF tasted it and thought it seemed off, looked inside and found the dairy to be curdled and smelt off. on further inspection she also thought she saw what appeared to be a hair partially blended in. after a bit of indecision, we both decided it best to air on the side of caution, particularly since at least part of this drink was for her five year old, I decided I would take it back. I returned the drink walking back to the store and was told by who I think is the owner, There is nothing wrong with the drink the dairy is fine. He did not even pick up my cup to look inside, and I also pointed out. This smoothie was not the right flavour either which was besides the point and would have been fine. He told me he can do nothing as he made the drink himself and he knows nothing is wrong. At least look inside I am blind. I cannot see what's going on in there, but please look yourself I requested. He refused telling me he cannot do anything I asked for a refund since I am now unsure of the dairy. He said he cannot refund anything. There is nothing wrong with the drink and it is the correct flavor. I have been a customer at this location making regular purchases for 10 years now and have only ever had a handful of issues whereby lids on drinks were not properly secured or the sizes were wrong and a drink slipped out of a cardboard carrying tray because they do not fit in properly, and when I have returned, have always been met with a bit of resistance when asking for the situation to be rectified. I made one last request for this situation to be corrected and again he refused to, telling me nothing is wrong so nothing can be done again not even picking up the drink. So now I am here doing exactly what I told him I would do- writing this review. and yes, I left the drink there along with my money.”

Horrible place. A little insight from a former employee...which basically confirms the other reviews previously posted. The coffee is always burnt because it sits for aprx 1.5-2 hours before they make a new one. That's fresh coffee!?!? The pasties are stale because they don't make new ones daily. Sometimes they sit on the shelf for 2 or 3 days...all in the name of saving a buck or two. They also have been known to drop food on the floor, and still insist to their employees that it is okay to sell/eat. They add water(tap water at that) to the soup to top it up, instead of making a new bowl...so really you're eating/drinking more water then anything...it's barely even a proper soup broth. The dishes are not properly washed, just rinsed and dried. Icecream has been sitting in those bins FOREVER...dont eat the ice cream! If a health inspector checked out the place, God knows how many violations they'd find. The bosses are assholes, especially the little one, who's angry and bitter about life...you'll have to ask him why. Dont bother trying to communicate with him though, he will just talk over you. They both cluck back and forth all day in Hindi, or whatever their language is, and barely communicate with their emloyees except when it is to tell them they did something wrong. They have a HUGE, HUGE turnover rate...chances are the person that served you last week, won't be there next time you go...hmmm, I wonder why!?!? Anybody thinking about working there better like eating $hi+. No respect for their employees, or their customers...they actually tell employees to NOT talk to certain customers, cause they know they will only buy one coffee or one pastrie...ie: some of the homeless/lower income people that hang out there. Also, if they dont feel you are working out, they will make up some bs about you and have you canned days before your 3 month probation period expires. That is my two cents...too bad. It is a really nice place(inside), but they don't have a clue how to operate a business, and have no respect for other people...it's all about saving a buck with these two clowns. BTW, complaints have been made to head office, but they dont seem to wanna deal with these two. Patronize at your...
