I have been waiting for three years to get this review in. Going to Dave’s is like visiting your favourite BBQ grilling uncle. I was greeted like family, the place is welcoming, comforting, no frills and serves fresh, piping hot homemade fare. It’s specially a treat during summer days, when the sky is blue and it’s sunny outside, to sit on the picnic benches and have David’s food. I had their fries, no toppings, and they were golden, crispy and just the perfect comfort food, the kind that warms your soul up a little from the inside too. The fries were accompanied with fresh homemade milkshakes, that were delicious, perfectly sweetened and not too heavy. Their chicken tenders are great too! Overall, loved the casual, laid back experience and the generous portion sizes. Will definitely visit over and over again whenever I’m missing home.

The BEST fries in town... bar none! Loads of delicious gravy, right to the bottom of the dish, and generous portions. We love the Newfoundland fries (a taste of home!!) and the Poutine. The owner is very friendly, and courteous to customers. The small wait for your food is absolutely worth it if there is a line up. Don't pass it by!! If you haven't already found this gem in K-W, go try it out. You will have found your "go to" place... Home made burgers, fish & chips, sausage, and chicken are on the menu as well.

My wife and I ordered the small NFLD fries (fries gravy, peas, home made stuffing with added cheese and it was so amazing and large portions for a small. A fresh twist on poutines and you can add hamburger, bacon and a lot more. I will go all out next visit and The guy there was so friendly and came out to see and ask if it was to our liking. Will highly recommend this to everyone I meet. A+++

David's Fresh Cut Fries is an accurate name for this business. The fries are indeed fresh cut to order. We went one day and saw the delivery truck dropping off bags upon bags of fresh, whole potatoes.

The food is all excellent quality, stick to your ribs fare that is unmatched in quality in the region. The portions are massive. So even though the prices might seem a bit higher than some other places; the value is excellent. We have healthy appetites, so for our first visit we ordered large newfie fries, and large poutine; but we soon realized it was too much for us. We've since downsized our orders to smalls of anything we want; and even the small size fries/poutine is big enough to fill a person up with ease.

The building itself is an older building, a former Dairy Queen, that has seen better days; and the picnic tables outside could use some repair. But, if anything, this just lends a little more local eatery charm to the place.

This is definitely the place in town to go for Newfie Fries and Poutine, IMO. It's also one of very few, perhaps even the only eatery in town that offers pop/soda varieties from Newfoundland. They include Pineapple flavour, and an amazing flavour known as Birch Beer - yes it's actually made from Birch trees. You've gotta try these flavours out, if you...

Always great to get a taste of home when im visiting! Being a newfie and loving a solid fries dressing and gravy, I feel the peas are just added for extra when thats not really a thing... and the newfie burger... I lived in nfld my entire life and never heard of something so gross... now a Baloney sandwich is whats up!

Now what needs to be added is the turkey mess! Turkey, fries, gravey, and dressing is a perfect combo and I'd love to see it on the menu... perhaps instead of your bologna burger

Maybe squid rings would be a good idea too And newfie steak aka bologna! Lol

Highly recommend, just some...
