Popped in today on our visit from Ireland. Sat in the outside area as we had our little old and blind jack russell with us. Ordered drinks and food but the place was swarming with wasps...in fairness there was nothing they could do about that. There was about 5 people drinking at the bar and the rest of the pub was empty so I asked would it be possible to bring the dog, again, a jack russell, not a pitbull, inside so we could just eat our food without swatting wasps every 2 seconds. We were told no. I asked to cancel the food order and they said too late, you can have it to go. We had only just got our first drink so I asked for plastic cups and was told they couldn't give us them to take our drinks with us. She actually told us to chug them. We ordered the large platter for $24. Basically some over fried but cold vegetables chucked in a box with some dips. There wasn't actually many Irish options on the menu. Bangers and mash is an English thing. I asked what made the Irish curry Irish and she said they put apples in it. 😂😂 Never heard of that before. Didn't fancy trying it either

Definitely not the highlight of our visit...

This place could have been so great... but it all went downhill when they stopped playing Irish music, cut back on the food quality, let it get dirty and dusty, and allowed it to become a dive bar with incredibly unsavoury folks.

In the last six months the clientele has started to go downhill. I have unfortunately heard incredibly bigoted talk there lately. I have heard regulars talk vulgarity about servers bodies, seen customers touching servers inappropriately, heard the “n” word and the “r” word casually, comments and jokes about the LGBTQ+ community, including purposely misgender people. Just consistent hate and bigotry from the same group of regulars and the owners are aware, they could have shut it down or spoke out against it but I have yet to see either happen.

I have had more than one Google review removed - I am just trying to let folks know it is not a safe space, nothing is false or exaggerated but they seem to keep getting "flagged." The owner posted their own five star Google review stating it was an "accepting place" and as someone who is in the LGBTQ+ community - it is NOT SAFE nor anywhere near accepting,...

Small, unpretentious Irish pub/restaurant with a makeshift patio, very dimly lit interior, playing 3-chord country rock & occasional AC/DC, right beside Victoria near Lancaster.

Falls Rd burger was OK, far from the worst I've ever had (that would be a toss-up between Howl at the Moon & Four Fathers Brewery - both thoroughly burnt old leather, barely edible). Fries were actually quite good - thick, tasty, not overly greasy. Coffee cup & spoon, however, both looked unwashed. The rim of the cup in particular looked brown & smudgy, so I picked up one of the napkins (delivered to table with the food) and wiped around the rim, picking up quite a big stain. Then noticed that most of the other (unused -- by us, at least) napkins were some of the dirtiest "fresh" napkins I've ever seen. See photos of both attached. Sorry about the dim light but we were sitting at the most brightly lit table in the place, under an opaque window. Sadly, I can't give more than 2 stars despite decent food b/c cleanliness has to be the easiest thing to get right in the restaurant biz and this level of filth is actually...

This is a good, traditional Irish pub. The atmosphere is fantastic - my group and I went on a Friday night and (granted the place is small but) the pub was lively. There was a band with live music which was really cool. I started off with the Pork & Pear flatbread which was nice. Very flavourful and fresh ingredients. I also ordered the fish & chips - the fries and battered fish was some of the best I’ve ever had. The fries were handcut and the fish was cooked perfectly. It was also served with a lemon wedge, coleslaw, and proper tartar sauce. My only real complaint is the portions… I was expecting the fish pieces to be twice the size so that was disappointing. The waitress was also a tad slow at times, in regards to replenishing drinks. All around a good experience. Has the makings of Four Stars but (in my opinion) is held back by portion sizes.

The picture doesn't do this Fish & Chips justice. The cod had a thin crispy outside (I chose breaded instead of battered) with a thick flakey inside. Not at all greasy. The tartar sauce was made in house with fresh dill and chunks of pickle. Probably the best tasting tartar sauce I've ever had. The place itself is nothing special but I take it to be a very traditional Irish pub. A place to drink with your pals and eat some great food. I do have one complaint though. They use plastic disposable cups for the coleslaw and tartar sauce.
