Today, my visit to Hakka Aroma on Bleams Road, Kitchener, was an unforgettable culinary journey. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Yunisha and Shyamla, whose attentive service made our experience even more special, despite how busy it was. I ordered the Manchow Soup, Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, and Chinese Bhel, and each dish was a perfect blend of flavors, paying homage to Hakka cuisine with an Indian twist. The Manchow Soup had the right amount of spice to kickstart the meal, while the Manchurian was crispy yet tender, bathed in a tangy sauce that was addictive. The Hakka Noodles were a flavorful symphony of well-balanced spices and fresh ingredients. The Chinese Bhel, a fusion twist, was a delightful surprise with its crunchy texture and tangy flavors. Yunisha and Shyamla were fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed, even though the place was really busy. They handled everything so smoothly, and their friendly service added a special touch to the whole evening. With their hospitality and the restaurant’s cozy vibe, it felt more like an experience than just a meal. Hakka Aroma, blending Indian, Chinese, and Nepali flavors, is a top spot in Kitchener. Though not a huge space, it’s meticulously clean, cozy, and perfect for an intimate yet casual dining experience. Whether it’s for the delicious food or the warm service from Yunisha and Shyamla, this place won’t disappoint!

Saw Triple Schezwan Fried Rice on their menu and wanted to give it a shot so went to Hakka Aroma for dinner one day. Ordered Chicken Lollipop, Triple Schezwan Fried Rice & Chicken Manchurian Gravy. The Lollipop was average - lots of sweet sauce on it rather than spicy. The Chicken Manchurian gravy was alright. The Triple was a disappointment - it doesn't come with Gravy (I don't understand how is it triple then???) + the taste was very peppery + the egg on top was not the traditional one + the cucumber & parsley threw me off a lot. This Triple was nothing like what you'd normally get in Mumbai - not even close. The place is clean and server is polite. And there is lots of parking. Likely won't go here again because there are better Hakka restaurants around and the Triple Schezwan which would have been a game-changer was a complete disaster.

Absolutely abysmal customer service at this new restaurant! When I dared to express my distaste for the Manchurian dish, the waitress’s dismissive response was a complete joke. Instead of acknowledging my valid complaint or offering any sort of solution, she arrogantly brushed it off by saying it’s their ‘hot selling item.’ It’s appalling how my concerns were shrugged aside, leaving me feeling utterly disregarded as a paying customer. This negligent and cavalier attitude towards customer feedback is unforgivable. It’s crystal clear that patron satisfaction is the last thing on their minds. I left not just disappointed but infuriated by the sheer lack of care and respect for customers’ experiences. A complete and utter disgrace! AVOID THIS PLACE IF U CAN

Hakka Aroma, Kitchener – A Second Chance Well Deserved

As a food critic, I believe in fairness—one bad experience shouldn’t write the whole story, especially in the dynamic world of hospitality. So, I returned to Hakka Aroma a week after a disappointing first encounter, open to giving them a second chance. And I’m glad I did.

This time, I was welcomed by the restaurant owner—a humble, down-to-earth Nepali gentleman whose warmth and professionalism were a complete contrast to my previous visit. He took time to understand my Bombay palate, shared his background in Hakka cuisine, and offered thoughtful recommendations that truly reflected his experience in the kitchen. This is exactly the kind of leadership every food outlet needs.

I tried their Chicken & Egg Fried Noodles along with the Tandoori Momos. As someone trying this momo style for the first time, I’ll admit it didn’t quite hit the emotional high my friend described—a fair 3.5/5 for me. But the noodles? Outstanding. Rich, smoky, perfectly spiced, and packed with depth—a true showcase of their culinary strength. Without hesitation, I’d say Hakka is not just a word on their board—it’s their craft.

It’s important to note: this visit wasn’t sponsored, nor requested. It was my own decision to reassess, and so is this review. I’m genuinely happy to see that Hakka Aroma not only acknowledged their earlier misstep but took corrective steps to win back trust. Mistakes can happen—what matters is how you recover, and today, they did it with grace.

Final verdict: One of the most authentic Hakka outlets in Kitchener—and a team that’s learning, evolving, and delivering. Respect where it’s due. See you...

Extremely Disappointed – Charged for a Cancelled Order

I ordered from Hakka Aroma via Uber Eats on my birthday, but unfortunately, the order went to my previous address by mistake. I realized the error instantly and I cancelled the order within one minute, then reordered the exact same items to my correct address.

To my surprise, I was charged for both the cancelled order, which is 90$ and the new one, a total of $90. Despite cancelling immediately, I received no refund. I contacted the restaurant twice by phone, but both times, they refused to let me speak to the manager. I also sent them an email, but never received any response. This is the most unprofessional experience I've had with a restaurant.

I expected better communication and basic customer service. Instead, I was ignored and charged unfairly. I won’t be ordering from Hakka Aroma again, and I hope others think twice before doing so.

Thank you for acknowledging my concern. However, an apology alone doesn’t resolve the financial loss I experienced. I cancelled the order within a minute and placed the same order to the correct address, yet I was charged for both – totaling around $90. I reached out multiple times via phone and email with no resolution or communication.

Given the circumstances and the immediate cancellation, I am requesting a full refund for the cancelled order. This is a fair and reasonable expectation, and I hope you will take swift action to correct this. Please let me know how and when the refund will...

Our recent meal at Hakka Aroma was packed with flavorful Hakka dishes and accommodating service. Here’s a breakdown of our order and experience:

We started with the Chicken Lollipop, which typically comes with a sweet sauce. Upon mentioning our preference for less sweetness, the staff graciously served it without sauce and recommended dipping it in our Hot and Sour Soup. This twist added a spicy depth and was a satisfying start.

We also had the Hot and Sour Soup, which was perfectly balanced between heat and tang. For the kids, the fries were a simple yet satisfying option.

The highlight of our meal was the Chilli Chicken Gravy, served with plain rice. This rich, spicy dish was flavorful, and paired with Garlic Naan—a favorite of my son’s—it was a fantastic combination. The naan was soft, fresh, and had just the right amount of garlic.

Additionally, we ordered the Dry Chilli Fish Fry, which was a bit salty but still enjoyable with its crispy texture and flavorful spices.

For vegetarians, Hakka Aroma offers options like Veg Manchurian and Veg Noodles in both appetizer and main course portions, while meat-lovers can opt for the non-vegetarian versions of these dishes. The variety is appreciated for mixed dietary preferences.

The only drawback was the cleanliness in the washroom, where the sink was nearly blocked. Attention to these details would enhance the dining experience. Otherwise, the flavorful dishes and customizable options made for a...
