Williams Fresh Cafe — Restaurant in Kitchener

I will never forget my last visit to this store. I came in one evening near closing time to order a hot drink and a snack. I was told they would be closing soon and would need to eat fast and leave. I sat down to eat when a dying friend who I was helping called. I was only a few seconds into the call when the employee came to my table to remind me they were closing and would need to leave. I explained to her that I was on the phone with friend who was in crisis and dying. She said she didn't care that I would have to leave.I explained to her that many stores once a customer is in will allow customers to finish and usually allow them 15-30 minutes before having them leave. This is what reasonable people do. And under the circumstances, I thought they would be more understanding. They were not. My dying friend could overhear the entire conversation. The server still refused to accommodate. I asked to speak to the manager and out came the owner's 18 year old son who was just as unreasonable as the server was. I was near in tears as my dying friend was in a crisis and I was attempting to help her. They did not care. I later spoke with the owners who were equally callus and rude. My friend has since died. I did speak with corporate office but was only offered an apology and gift card. The owners of Williams at city hall were among the most callus and self entitled people I have ever met. These people care only about one thing, profit. With the many coffee shops to choose from, this place should be avoided at all costs.

I have encountered former employees who worked under the same owners for this Williams location and they shared similar experiences and like me have never gone back. Good riddance, no loss here. If I could give this store a " - 0" I would. Unfortunately the least allowed...

Really wanted to like this place as it’s so close to our apartment. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago. We ordered the quesadilla and the bacon mac and cheese. The quesadilla was okay, and the service was quick. However, the Mac and cheese tasted very off, like a weird chemical taste to the point that we weren’t able to eat much of it. We thought it might be a weird type of cheese or possibly a chemical on a cooking utensil or dish but when we politely mentioned it on the way out the person behind the counter said it was Tex-mex cheese and seemed annoyed that we mentioned anything. Despite this, we went back this past weekend to give it another shot. We got the classic breakfast and the cinnamon bun waffle. The wedges were freezer burnt, and the eggs didn’t taste like anything. We aren’t very picky, have both worked in the service industry and didn’t want to make a fuss, and normally this wouldn’t prompt a bad review, but I cannot get past the fact that the “cream cheese icing” on the cinnamon bun waffle was just pure salty cream cheese, not icing. This was the worst experience I've had at any coffee shop/cafe. When I entered the store, I was greeted by an attendant who was clearly very irritated and unwelcoming. It took 5 mins before she or any of the other 3 attendants came to take my order. I was the only customer in line. I ordered one of the lattes on the menu to which the attendant reacted as if she had never heard of it before, spent 5 minutes asking her coworker what it is, all while having no eye contact with me, speaking to me directly, or helping me understandwhatthe confusionis about. The coworker who had assisted her prepared the latte (which took another 10 mins). Along with my latte I ordered a chocolate brownie. After receiving and paying for the overpriced food, I hurried to leave the store as I did not feel happy with the customer service and also did not feel welcome there. When I got to my car and went ahead to try my food, the latte was made with what remained at the bottom of the coffee pot and was cold, burnt, and disgusting.
