Having been a nearly weekly customer here, I'm a bit disappointed in how I was treated when I had an issue. See, the last sub I ordered which came in a promo bag for their "fired up" campaign lit on fire when I microwaved it. (I didn't expect it to be literal...) When I called them to give them a warning that they might have an issue with the new bags, I was first argued with that "the location doesn't take phone orders", and eventually when I got to clarify that I had just _purchased_ a sub and explained that there might be something wrong with their new bags because mine lit on fire in the microwave, they got defensive. All I was expecting was a thank you for bringing it to their attention, and an offer to replace my sub. But they were more interested in defending the integrity of their promo bags that it got me "fired up" enough to post this review. (And to send a similar review to corporate.)

The location at Westmount and Highland, in Kitchener, has been a pleasure to go to. Family owned for twenty-five years this location has triumphed over a Pandemic, and thrived in the treacherous hospitality industry. This longevity is also a testament to hard work and superior Customer Service. Oh yeah, they serve up a nice variety of fresh and tasty subs too, made just way you like them. I enjoyed the meatball sub, on whole wheat...a whole lot.

When you are done eating and are about to leave the employe says you need to pay more money. -You mean 40 mins after you want more money.?!

I asked to talk to manager

The employe talks to set manager/owner on the phone but does not let me communicate with them. But then was told after employe hangs up with manager to forget it and that every thing is fine.

I disagree! I did not ask for employe to speak on my behalf . And my complaint was not heard. The nerve of employe who says you can call and speak with set manager/owner tomorrow without asking if that suits me.

PLEASE NOTE

I ordered 2 large subs with 2 keto buns for one of the large sub and put both in a combo. The issue was I asked for a large sub not 2 smalls. So they want to charge me for 2 smalls instead of a large (which is the same amount of food) and then charge me for 2 keto buns. Sorry that is charging me twice for the same product!

PLEASE NOTE TO MANAGEMENT

I do not want a standard message to go to your web page. Simply tell me what can be changed and how we can change things to avoid this...

Two staff behind the counter, but I got the one who seems less conscientious of a worker. Asked me only if I wanted whole wheat or white bread so I had to ask her wasn't there more choices? A bit stingy with the veggies and had to ask her which she easily obliged. It all worked but it was just her I-just-want-to-get-rid-of-this-customer attitude that was a bit of a put off...not enough to annoy but enough to be noticeable. My first questionable experience at a Mr Sub so this was a bit surprising.

Got one napkin for a bit sub, and I had to asked for me...it's little things like that. But I also noticed the other staff was very conscientious and working more attentively, etc. Maybe my server was finishing her shift and was eager to get home after a long day. Giving her the benefit of the doubt a bit.

Anyway, the sub was good and I enjoyed it.

Went a second time and now bumped up the rating to 4-star with different people behind the counter. Much better attitude. I think one of the staff was the...

I haven't been here in a while, thought I'd grab a sub on my way home from work. Quickly remembered why I stopped going to Mr. Sub. I ordered a foot long tuna sub with double meat and it came to $20. for just a sub. paid an extra $6 for two extra scoops of tuna. It was 5pm and was baffled by how empty the store was but when I got my sub I realized why this location is on the verge of bankruptcy. I asked for tomatoes on the sub and the male working gave me little scrap pieces of tomatoes from a container in the fridge, not the sliced tomatoes on display. The portions were pathetic and it is ridiculous that they expect a tip, I gave 15% but obviously it wasn't enough because the sub bun was stale, and the amount of toppings on the sub were extremely cheap. Never again will I go to Mr. Sub, and don't bother replying and pretending that you care what I have to say because other recent reviews have complained about the same issues and nothing has changed so that...
