We have been taking out for years from this restaurant on Highland rd . Recently the service has gone completely downhill. Last week I ordered online and went for pick up and even though the bell at the door went off, it took 12 min for someone to come to greet me . There was an elderly man waiting there who said he was waiting for a half hour for take out on a Sunday at 1 pm . He opened the door several times to get someone’s attention and when they came he said to me “ good luck with her , she treats you like someone pissed in her cereal today” ( truer words never spoken). Then as I waited another 10 min for food I had pre ordered online , I said if I hadn’t ordered online I would have never waited to be greeted at the door so long . Then yesterday I went to dine in and it took 15 min to order and we waited another 45 min and still no food and our server never came back to our table once during that time . It was busy to be sure , but I had to go get the main lady who seats you to tell our server we have to now take our food to go because we had an appointment. Then another young server came and handed me a bill for my sons soda. Where’s the food ? She didint know and she was new here she said . I was mad that they wanted me to pay for the soda at all when clearly this original server forgot to put in our order as some that came in after us were being served their food . He never came out , no explanation, no apology, no nothing. I paid . I will not be back . If your servers continue to serve this way you will be closed in no time in a world where people have to be very choosy where they spend their money on eating out. They will go and pay where they are treated with timeliness...

We had the pleasure of celebrating our anniversary dinner at the Swiss Chalet in Highland, Kitchener, and it was truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. What made it so special was our incredible server, Ritu.
From the moment we walked in, Ritu welcomed us with a warm smile and made sure we got the seats we preferred. Her kindness, attentiveness, and passion for hospitality were outstanding. She served us with genuine care, respect, and enthusiasm, making our evening even more memorable.
We ordered steak and ribs, and when I had a few questions about the menu, Ritu went above and beyond to explain the differences—even though she is a vegetarian. She was honest about not knowing the taste firsthand but still provided detailed explanations, ensuring we made the right choice. That level of dedication and professionalism is what truly defines exceptional customer service.
To make our celebration even more special, Ritu surprised us with a complimentary dessert—a delicious cake—acknowledging our special day. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture that made us feel truly valued as guests.
Though we’ve dined at different Swiss Chalet locations across Ontario and Canada, this was by far our best experience. Every restaurant deserves a passionate, humble, and talented server like Ritu. Swiss Chalet is lucky to have her, and we are grateful for the outstanding service she provided.
Highly recommend this location, and a huge thank you to Ritu for making our special day even...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give this place a sixth star, I would.
Let me tell you something — I have eaten food in my life. Many foods. But nothing—and I mean nothing—prepared me for the transcendent experience that is Swiss Chalet. From the moment I walked in, the air smelled faintly of rotisserie magic and pure Canadian nostalgia. The angels sang. Somewhere, a maple leaf gently fluttered to the ground.
And then… the Quarter Chicken Dinner arrived. Golden. Glorious. Glazed with the kind of confidence only decades of perfection can produce. The skin crackled softly, whispering secrets of flavor to my soul. I took one bite, and I swear time stopped. My worries melted faster than Chalet sauce on hot fries.
Speaking of which — THE SAUCE. Oh, the sauce. Scientists could spend centuries trying to decode its mysteries and still come up short. I’d drink it from a chalice if that were socially acceptable. I’d name my firstborn Chalet in its honor.
The staff? Flawless. Polite enough to make your grandma blush, efficient enough to start a small country. The booth was so comfortable I briefly considered forwarding my mail there.
In short, Swiss Chalet isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a pilgrimage. A spiritual awakening served with a side of coleslaw.
Thank...
