Thought I would try this restaurant out, my friend got food poisoning years ago there so I never tried. Food was good but service was awful, got yelled at for asking for the dessert I ordered, waitress said"I told you it was last call awhile ago" I told her I ordered it awhile ago which I never got and am asking for it. Told her to go check the order sheet. The other girl brought the ice cream and said the other waitress didn't know that I ordered it ahead and so she brought the ice cream however I continued to hear the other waitress yelling about the situation. When I confronted her, told her I didn't appreciate her yelling at me, she looked at me then walked away, I called her back, shessaid "what" very rudely and walked away again. I asked the other waitress if there was a manager around, she said there wasn't one but coincidentally a manager came out. I told him what happened, he was surprise apologising for her however she was still yelling in her language at him while he was constantly apologizing for what happened. I'm shocked at how rude the service was, if you're wrong then just apologize yet she continued on. I mean I ordered the ice cream when she told me it was last call, the one waitress even said good you put your ice cream on here but then I never received it and when I asked for it, i got reamed out. I will only go back of the manager is working, otherwise the 2 waitress tonight was awful and one liar. UPDATE: decided to give this place a serving try, food was good, definer not$30 on the weekend good though but omg the service was awful. I'm surprise they are still in business with their service. Barely anyone was there in a typical Saturday night and I can see why, who wants to come to a restaurant where waitresses throw food at you, the waitress literally threw the plates down and leave not sayingw aa word one time they even threw it from the side where my brother was sitting, he didn't expect that. If they don't do anything about there waitress they're in big big trouble. Good luck, if only the owner reads some of...
Read moreWe used to visit this place frequently but lately have noticed quite a difference in the Nara Sushi experience. I'm writing this review while sitting here as the entire restaurant is full and there are only two waitresses.
We were served our food quickly and asked for a drink to have my food with. I was told to please wait a little and then after sitting for 5 mins asked the only other waitress and she said sure but never returned with my tea. Finally after over 10 mins I got up and went to them both and asked if they were out of tea or something and finally received my drink to have with my meal.
As you can probably guess, we never saw a waitress again and after waiting quite a while again without anyone coming, we decided it was best to just leave as they clearly weren't able to handle serving everyone.
When we left, they were not friendly and it seemed as though they just wanted to get us out of there as quickly as possible. They did not ask us how our meal or experience was and they did not say thank you or anything like they usually do in all of our past experiences. They didn't say anything.
The overall service experience was unfriendly, incredibly slow (even in the beginning of our meal before the place filled up), and we never even got everything that was included with our meal. Yes we left; however, we spent well over half an hour waiting to be served while we were there and really just couldn't wait any longer.
The service was absolutely atrocious and so bad that we have said we just don't feel we'll return to eat here again. That's quite unfortunate as they've always previously been very good and the food is always simply delicious, even this evening!
Best of luck in the future Nara Sushi and hopefully you will turn it around...
Read moreFirst off, don't order from here - if you want sushi go to Sakura Island or Kinaku Izakaya, they are much better. We ordered from Nara because we wanted something delivered to our home for a nice movie night and our typical place, Sakura Island, is closed on Sundays. We ordered a party tray which was supposed to include a few rolls, 12 pieces sushi and 10 pieces of sashimi. They gave us only 8 pieces of sashimi instead of 10 and the pieces were paper thin slices and the fish looked slimy and questionable. We honestly didn't want to touch the sashimi but tried a few pieces of the sushi and rolls. They had a horrible metallic, almost chemical after taste to them and were otherwise quite bland. The wasabi they gave us was in a packet like ketchup and came out looking more like green jello and it also had a weird chemical after taste (see pictures) We called the restaurant and spoke to the manager (unsure of his name) and he was a bit rude. We explained the issues and it was as if he didn't hear a word we said. He essentially stated that he couldn't give us a refund "because it doesn't taste good". We tried to explain that that wasn't necessarily the issue and that we were willing to give up on a nice cozy night at home to bring the order back so he can see we didn't just eat it all and then lodge a complaint to get a free meal and he still refused. He said the only thing he would do for us is have us come in and he make us a new order which, to be honest, wasn't something we wanted to do considering the unappetizing product they had given us at first. I don't think I'll eat sushi for a while because of how awful this was. So I would recommend against eating here - terrible food and even...
