So sad. Have eaten here for many years and most recently have heard that the restaurant has changed ownership, and it definitely shows. Had a family Sunday dim sum morning, first customers at the store right at 11am. My sister got screamed at even though we had reservations that I booked a week in advance. Had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food. That wasn't the worst part, while waiting for the food we had to witness several times the server who is also owner yell at people asking to get seated that they couldn't seat them. And then of course the owners friends come in and get seated immediately and receive food instantly... while we were still waiting. There was also a family that came right after us and were also waiting on food and didn't get until after the owners friends received food. I also had to witness the owner daughter (1 year old) sitting at the cash register and falling.... a customer had to help her up. Also witnessed customers getting up and serving their own drinks cause they weren't getting customer service. We didn't receive all our food until 1.5 hours into being seated. My biggest feedback to the new owners - be careful of the bridges you burn cause all those tables of 7 you turned down today just made you lose out on all their friends coming to you and their families. Take a step back and reevaluate business. You catering to your friends who are expecting a discount cause they know you won't make up for the loss of the 5 tables you could of received full...

I've been here multiple times but the timing in between each visit is months upon months. However every time I've left I've felt this dim sum restaurant is "not bad" for what a smaller city has to offer. Pricing is standard/fair.

My most recent visit was this week and unfortunately I left with a much worse impression. I question if the owner may have changed?

The restaurant was poorly lit, there was one sole lady attending to all the tables- and although the restaurant is modest in size with only a few tables you could see right away how overwhelmed she was. She didn't have time to seat anyone coming in (everyone coming in just found a table and sat themselves). The tables weren't cleared away from the previous customers until a new customer sat down at the table. This poor lady was also helping in the kitchen as well. So needless to say service was subpar.

The food was decent- I ordered ha gow, siu mai, ha cheung and lo mai gai but I do not recommend ordering the curry cuttlefish, the curry was a water like consistency and the cuttlefish was powdery in texture and just fell apart.

I think that was my last time there until I hear there's been a...

Was really messy, every table had dirty dishes on them, there was one older couple dining in and they said they’d been sitting there for an hour and a half and only got their drinks (and i think an app). There were a number of other customers waiting a very long time for their food, one man ordered ahead to pickup at 5pm (it was 6 when i arrived) and he had only just received his food 10 minutes after i got there. There was a ~2 year old child running around the room talking to customers (which isnt safe at all for an infant or for customers due to covid), the kid also had mcdonalds on one of the tables that had been there since we placed the order at 1pm. There’s a tower of toys in the corner that look like a trap from Indiana Jones. 2 stars because the food was pretty good, just unsatisfied for the customer service and felt very bad for the other customers. There should be better coordination and more workers (looked like there was only 1 or 2 people cooking and 1 person at the register [wasnt even at the register most...

Ordered takeout on a Friday around 4:30pm. Got the sesame chicken combo plate which came with broccoli and Chicken Fried Rice. Also ordered BBQ Pork Buns off the dimsum menus. The fried rice and broccoli were okay, nothing special here. The sesame chicken was disappointing. The chicken portions were thin and it felt like it was refried. A lot of the sesame chicken. pieces were hard to chew. The BBQ pork buns were fantastic, nice and soft with a good pork filling. The filling was tender and wasn't overly sweet. I think if you're looking for dimsum this place should be fine, otherwise the Chinese-Canadian dishes are disappointing like every other restaurant in the Region.

UPDATE AS OF DEC 2023 Only one person cooking, waiting tables, and working the cash register. A single staff person for the entire restaurant! Messy tables that never got cleared. Waited 1 hour+ for our food. Cold dining room, heated only with a space heater. Waited 15 mins just to pay our bill. So sad to see a formerly great restaurant fall apart. Sadly, here is my original review, which no longer applies: "Authentic Chinese food & Dim Sum. Better than the typical 'Canadian style' Chinese food restaurant. Fresh, delicious, full of flavour. Restaurant interior is modest but comfortable. Good prices. Best Chinese food I've ever had in Waterloo Region."

IMPORTANT: Do not have any expectations for service. It's run by a husband/wife duo and the service is non-existent when it's busy, especially when they're both in the back of the kitchen. The dim sum was alright overall. Nothing amazing and nothing noteworthy either. We had: - Chive Shrimp Dumpling (OK) - Spare Ribs w/ Black Bean Sauce (NG wouldn't rec) - Sticky Rice w/ Treasures in Lotus Leaves (OK) - Shrimp Chang Fun (NG, wouldn't rec) - Tofu Chang Fun (NG, wouldn't rec) - Steamed Egg York Bun (Rec) - Bean Curd w/ Minced Shrimp (Rec) - Fried Taro Dumplings (OK) - Deep Friend Squid (NG, wouldn't rec)
