Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Kitchener

So, took my daughter out for supper to Swiss chalet, hadn't been for quite awhile. It was the last time i will ever step foot in Swiss Chalet ever again. So we were sat by a nice girl, She brought us drinks, seemed friendly, We waited well over 1/2 hour for our food. We both had 2 full cups of diet pop waiting on our meals. My daughter got the most amazing Chicken Caesar Salad (I should have ordered it.) And i got the special ... See below.. Compare the pictures.. Maybe I'm picky, but when i pay $20 for a meal I'd like it to somehow resemble the picture from the menu. Mine did not.. The mash potatoes looked like they were dry, Corn on the cob appeared under-cooked. the vegetables didn't resemble anything in the menu i saw. And the Meat looked far from tender. I didn't even try any of it. It just turned me off completely.. So the waitress comeback, i told her This isn't what i ordered. Take it back... She got the manager. Manager came over.. Nice lady, Offered me everything under the sun to compensate me for the meal. Sorry i passed on everything.. Just not interested. Dinner for me Ruined. At the end i gave the waitress 15% She handed me a card for a free 1/4 chicken dinner. I tried to give it back to her, said no thanks. She insisted i keep it. So gave it to my Daughter... :) Swiss chalet Gets 2 stars. Only because the manager and waitress were nice. The rest of the experience for me...

Swiss chalet is a family favourite in our home we eat here about once a week and this location specifically has gone to absolute trash, the quality has decreased and the employees and service I have literally no words for even the management. The worst part is I have spoke to the owner and he was very kind sincerely apologized for the behaviour and told us we should go to his other location which shouldn’t be the answer as there’s no reason for staff or managers to treat paying customers this way. They have made it so we don’t feel comfortable dining in so we bring home which is never as good, but the quality of food they send home was disgusting today the fries were not cooked and they were soggy I live 2 minutes from the store so it’s not from the drive and when I brought our meals back they only wanted to replace the fries I had to fight with her to get the meals replaced WHICH I drove back to the restaurant untouched and we wanted our meal to be fresh not cold chicken with fresh fries. We are just to our wits end. When I am paying for food I will absolutely speak up when paying for food that is inedible and I do not expect the staff to give attitude and be rude for asking for what we paid for. UPDATE!!!! TODAY IS JUNE 25, 2023 we returned with my 92 year old Mother only to find this location was a major disappointment!!! first the tables were so sticky we asked the server to wipe it and she sprayed with disinfectant but why not wipe it dry !!!!!!! leaving it sopping wet!!!! we got some napkins and they would not even dry the tables the napkins were sticking to the table.....after trying another table that was the same scenario however not too much ( we should have left at this point) but remembering the last time we were looking forward to dinner. We had chicken tenders, chicken wings and a quarter dinner dark meat all of these meals were tasteless. You could not eat the rolls they were so chewy the butter so hard it is probably still trying to melt even in this heat. WHAT A GREAT WASTE OF $70.00!!!!!

WOW! just like years ago the food was hot and tasted just like it did years ago. Stopped going to Swiss Chalet years ago when the one on Highland Rd was sold and all you get there is cold food you send it back and they act like you should not say anything and are rude. Not today our server Sue was delightful and very attentive not to mention polite. We will be back for some more of that...
