From what I heard, after a dispute with Ye's franchise, this place changed its name to Yo's sushi but tried to make their logo look as close to "Ye" as possible. The official "Ye" website says that "Yo" is not affiliated with Ye's as all.
I can understand why Ye's does not want any affiliation with this place. The service is slow and the staff are dishonest, and outright condescending and mean to people who have not done AYCES before.
I arrived late when meeting with some friends who have never been to AYCES before. When I got there I witnessed the talking down to my friends, using the tone that angry adults often use with children because my friends did not understand the "sharing" culture that is associated with these place and ordered separately.
On top of all that, they brought us other tables' order frequently and when we tried to tell them they argued with us and told us we didn't know how to order-- luckily the 2 neighboring tables stepped in and told them that YO's did, in fact, keep giving us their orders.
They also didn't bring out about 30% of our orders, and what they did bring out, was never the full order. We had people at our table not get food because they didn't bring out the amount that was ordered. From my understanding, this kind of tactic to save money were pushing customers away and Ye's moved on from it to become as competitive as other AYCES places. Unfortunately, YO's did not--is it possible that this may be one of the points of dispute they had.
Verdict: don't go to YO's: for 1 or 2 dollars more you can walk down a few doors to Kinkaku and enjoy 3x better quality, friendlier staff, and 4x faster service with...
Read moreMy friends and I planned on going to Kinkaku Izakaya today but it was closed for maintenance, so we decided to try Ye's Sushi instead.
The service was awful. We waited around for almost 45 minutes without getting certain dishes, after about 20 we asked if the items we ordered were coming. Told they were and kept waiting. We spent most of the time getting small plates and then waiting... and waiting...
I don't mind waiting, and am a very patient person but 2 other tables near us had similar problems, so it was a lot more waiting than most would deem acceptable.
I guess the sheet our order sheet was lost because a bunch of things we ordered never came at all. So we reordered the same items saying "We ordered these when we arrived at the resturant. Are they coming?" Our waiter said yes, but then took the sheet and then finally things began to come out. (I think they just went off that sheet, and lost the old one because we saw other people get their food before us frequently)
It was not overly busy either. My only guess could be short on kitchen staff.
The food was ok. Some pieces were quite good, others not great. I've eaten at many sushi places all over and nothing stood out.
Regardless, I would never go again. I recommend Kinkaku Izakaya over Ye's and it is just down the street... Save yourself the frustration and confusion!

Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience here.
You only get what you paid for. This sushi ayce is def a good price but the sushi has too much rice so that you can barley taste sushi. And I can see that the cookers hand shape by the rice. I personally love making sushi and I garuntee that I can do better. I am saving your time and money, find somewhere better option.
The two cookers were talking to each other loud without masks. Such a unhygienic atmosphere open kitchen. What is the point of open kitchen then??
I ordered one tempura onion and one tempura squid but I randomly got 6 pieces of tempura onions non squid. I felt like they intentionally try to make me full my tempura onions.
Service was terrible. They put Wasabi to every sushi plates, and our third plate has no Wasabi and our server asked us to reuse Wasabi that we had for second plate which was barley 1/4. I was just embarrassed that I had to scrape for saving a tiny bit of Wasabi in front of my server.
Also when I went Monday morning so we were the only table and still it took a lot to get my food.
Only things I loved were seaweed salad and desert. They were good for sure.
I was 100% willing to come back when I first entered here. However as soon as I got my sushi I changed my mind. Hire better cooker who knows how to make sushi.
I think you go there for eating everything else then...
