Unfortunately there was only one last room left and we decided to stay somewhere else, but staying for dinner was one of the best decisions we made on the trip. The food is as good as the few serious restaurants in MTL. We ordered a 4-course menu and a St Lawrence fish soup, every little ingredient in the dishes was carefully orchestrated. The pickled “topping” of beef shank is a genius touch, making it a fresh dish. The fish soup is not easy to make but the oriental hint of flavors really shined. And the sugar pie! Staff proudly said this was probably the best of its kind in Quebec. I personally don’t like sweet stuff, we don’t even have cane sugar in our kitchen but use floral syrup and honey as sweeteners, but this really blew me away. It simply reminds me of all the unhealthy but absolutely delicious desserts that I had over the years in France. Onion soup cappuccino! Burnt onions is not just decorative, it is what makes a difference on your palate. This is very delicate with just a few ingredients used. REFRESHING! Would love to come back again to try everything we missed on the menu! If one day there’s a Michelin guide for Quebec and this is not on it, I’d say it’s a shame for the French. Thank you team for offering us a wonderful evening! Oh the wine list is very...

What a find! So glad we got turned away from two other restaurants in the same street because we did not have a reservation. On holiday from England and nearing the end of a long road trip, dining at many different places in quebec and I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences of the trip. A quirky little restaurant, which was very homely, full of atmosphere and staff who were obviously passionate about their food. The young lady who took our reservation and served us was excellent from start to finish. The sharing board as a starter was presented impeccably and each component described very knowledgeably. The shank steak, with chimichurri and fresh, local veg was one of the best I have had in years. The halibut was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour. The sugar pie, her father's recipe, recommended by our waitress was just superb! The coffee cocktail topped off an excellent evening. It is clear that the staff believe in their restaurant, are passionate about what they do, serve excellent food and could not have been more helpful, kind or funny. I can't recommend this highly enough as somewhere to enjoy...

The Auberge is an old home and that comes with compromise on amenities. We booked a room with a "Bain tourbillon" hot thup ( I think). The room with the bath but no shower....A little surprising.disapointing and inconvenient for a 3 night stay The mgr upon request offered us a room with a shower for the 3rd night which was good will but too inconvenient. The mgr was very pleasant and so was her lovely young daughter apprentice in the dining room. The breakfast was Excellent...and different every morning which was a plus for many days stay. The location was excellent with view of the magnificent bay in the dining room.and walking distance to restaurants cafes and shops. The town is fully functional and offers all amenities of a modern town in addition to a lovely very cyclable boardwalk.I would recommend the Auberge with a proviso that you clearly understand the room you are booking, what is included and where it is located in...

Food is aesthetic and tasty, and there are some unique cocktails! A little pricey overall, but there are some notably expensive options and alternatively cheaper options. For sure check the menu beforehand. I had probably the best ravioli I've had in years with the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. The starters were good, but held back on the seasoning compared to the mains. The in-house tarte au sucre was very special for how subtle and light it is. They don't shy away from using less salt/pepper in certain dishes it seems. The chowder and the scallop/chorizo appetizers come to mind. It suits my taste, and the flavours are there so I don't want to take away from that, but it might not suit someone else's. Regardless, if I am in the region again I'd love to come back here. The server was also very funny and friendly, I wish I got his name to write it here.

We had an incredible experience at the restaurant for dinner! The ambiance is amazing with plants everywhere, beautiful windows, and a great view of the river. We had lovely service from our waitress who provided excellent recommendations. We learned the restaurant is a family business and it shows how much care they put into things. We had the chefs special as an appetizer and it was one of the best plates we’ve ever eaten. The lamb shank fell of the bone and had exquisite flavor. The bouillabaisse was equally delicious with great seasoning and a great variety of seafood. The wine list was impressive and a tad overwhelming but our waitress did a great job helping guide us through it.
