First of all, I really want the Hotel to do well. This is constructive criticism.
Pros: Good location. Great views. Nice hosts. Restaurant/bistro ok but could be better. More like a cafe. Many restaurants nearby.
Cons: 1. The rooms were really cramped. For two people with a toddler, we got stuck because of weather for a day. And unfortunately we felt it. My son got really frustrated with the cramped room really soon. They had two beds, but with both of them down, there was absolutely no room to move around.
Furnitures SHOULD be upgraded. This was a major blow. The bed had sharp edges and was very close to the wall. Me and my wife hit the sharp end multiple times and it really hurt. My son tripped a few times. The other furnitures were small and useless, chairs under tv does not work. The folding bed slammed on my toe and gave me black nails (was very heavy, there was no warning).
The floor was hilariously uneven. See the video. The bathroom door could not be locked, my son kept opening them when we did morning things. Had to hold it down with chairs. These were minor things but soured the overall experiences.
Parking was very narrow. Maybe ok for small sedans but I had a big suv and I was scared. Minivans and SUVs will not do well.
Overall, we liked the idea of this place but many small things hampered our living experiences. Maybe you will feel ok if you don't have kids. I think they need to upgrade the place a little for better experiences for...
Read moreWe stayed one night and had breakfast the next morning. The room was very comfortable and clean, with lovely decor and a great view of the St Lawrence. The innkeeper was very helpful and available to answer questions. Breakfast was delicious (varieties of fresh fruit, toast, yogurt, cereals, hard boiled eggs, excellent coffee) on the glassed in terrace overlooking the water. The town is charming and has a number of good restaurants but is not as busy or commercial as Baie St Paul. My only caution would be that the room we had at the inn would not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. Otherwise I...
