Spice Hut Indian Cuisine. — Restaurant in Ladysmith

Average 2 stars. 0 star for service and 4 for food. Looks like the waitresses work on commission. They are not willing to help out if they did not take your order. We went to dine with 4 people, the waitress took our order and never showed up after that. We had to follow up with other waitresses and they kept bouncing our order to one another. One waitress actually said that she cant place the order for naan on anyones behalf and we have to deal with our original waitress. We have never heard this before! At the time of payment, we overheard one of the young waitresses gossip about getting tip from another table right in front of us, which is really unprofessional. No eye contact at all with customers.

Through our dinner, water and cutlery was never served even though we asked for it 2 times. The worst thing is, there were 4 waitresses and of them kept crowding and grouping near the cash register and did not want to move out of there.

We had to repeatedly ask for our check, and finally after we got it, we were asked to go up to the register and pay. And guess what? The same waitress brought the payment machine to the table right next to us the very next minute. Wht!

Gross mismanagement, poor service that left us confused. No apologizes no concern showed at all. We drive all the way from Victoria once a month to enjoy a family meal. May be we won’t go there until things...

Had a horrible experience here. Arrived and was treated so poorly from the moment myself and my friend walked in. We walked up to the counter and were immediately asked by a stern, middle aged blonde woman if we were picking up or doing take out, no option even available to sit. So we said we would like to sit in and she responded that they were "very busy and probably had no space" for us. She then walked off and we stood there unsure of if that meant we should leave or not. Another girl (young and blonde) came up to us and brought us to a table where there were THREE empty tables beside us and another table just finishing their meal. We were given menus and told that our server would be with us shortly. We were brought water after sitting there for about 5 minutes. Our choices were made and our menus were closed off to the side but we weren't asked to order. The stern woman then came and cleaned the table next to us which took two trips to do while we sat looking at her, ready to order. Then NO ONE CAME. We sat for FIFTEEN MINUTES with no service before we decided that it felt so uncomfortable to be there. On our walk out not one person who worked there spoke to or acknowledged us. We left feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated and as though we were a burden on their business for having arrived. 10/10 would...

No question that Spice Hut food is absolutely delicious. Leaving this review more because of the service we've got 2 times in a row now. This latest time I ordered take out the other day before work for myself and my workmates. We got 4 entrées and some appetizers. Called at 4 and asked if it could be ready by 5 for when we went through town.

Arrived at 5 on the dot. Payed for our food and was told it would be a short wait. We waited 25 minutes for our food after being told that it would be ready at 5 no problem. Because of this we were late for work and had some pissed off work mates. We weren't offered an explanation or a discount or some complementary beverages. Just a quick "we're sorry for the wait" after being ignored. Next time I will wait to pay to see if they deserve the tip or not. The restaurant itself was maybe half full and not too busy.

The time before they forgot a bunch of stuff in our order and I had to come in a few days later to get some of my cash back since we couldn't leave work and they don't deliver. Will still be getting Spice Hut on our way to work, just going to maybe withhold payment until our order is...
