Salt. Sushi — Restaurant in Lakeshore

It was our first visit to this restaurant. We consider ourselves veterans when it comes to judging the quality of Japanese food and in particular, sushi and sashimi. After sampling the food we felt that the owners/chefs have fashioned a superbly unusual take on crafting a tastefully superior offering of our favorite foods. The presentation was clearly well thought out and the combinations of flavors was both interesting and a treat for the palate. The fish was fresher than what you are typically served at most run of the mill sushi restaurants. Even the miso soup was tasty and a perfect prelude to the balance of our meal. We are not as familiar as others with the newer offerings that seem more commonplace in modern sushi restaurants but this place presents these newer rolls in such a way that made them attractive to the eye and extremely satisfying to our more conservative tastebuds.

There were certain dishes missing from our usual expectations on Japanese restaurant menus but the addition of items such as the excellent poke bowls more than made up for it. It seems to us that the need to adequately accommodate the AYCE crowd while serving superior sushi makes the goal of crafting a one of a kind experience even more difficult than normal. I want to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at your establishment. Over the past year, I have been a loyal customer, frequently recommending your services to friends and clients. Unfortunately, a recent incident has left me feeling frustrated and undervalued.

After noticing a double service charge on my account, I was advised to come in person to address the issue and receive a refund. I traveled 25 minutes with a friend, who also experienced a double charge from a different bank, to present our cases to the staff. However, despite our efforts, we were met with resistance and were unable to receive the promised refund.

When I asked to speak with a manager, I was put in contact with Frank. Unfortunately, his defensive demeanor and raised voice during our conversation were unprofessional and left me feeling disrespected. I believe that as a customer who has consistently supported your business, I deserved a more courteous and understanding response.

This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I feel that my loyalty has not been acknowledged. I hope that future interactions with customers can be handled with more professionalism...

hands down the best rolls / appetizers out there. I love ordering takeout from here. I came for all you can eat friday and asked for all you can eat.. thinking i would be able to get a decent amount of food. We ordered 3 of the appetizers to share, I ordered one roll and my bf got 2 rolls.. we wanted to order more but the waitress was too busy fulfilling skip the dishes orders to come back and take our order. We were the only ones in the restaurant at this time as well. about 30-45 mins later of us sitting waiting around she came and asked if we wanted anything else but by that time I just wanted to leave after waiting so long. I definitely recommend takeout but for $60 for all you can eat for 2 people and having to wait so long i dont think all you can eat is worth it. When we left there was all the plates/cups etc of the tables that came before us and left just sitting out and not being cleaned up. Im disappointed as the food is amazing but the service just simply is not. If i would have known it would take that long to order more food I would have not opted for the all you can eat since we barely got anything it would have been cheaper to pay individually...
