Read moreI really like the bread, but I have stopped going to this particular bakery. Several weeks ago I encountered an employee who seemed to lack good manners and respect for this customer. The next week this same fellow greeted me with a loudly voiced insult, and repeated it. I am hard of hearing, but I was able to get the gist of it by lip-reading. I bought my two loaves, and contacted Cobs Bakery management to complain...which I did on-line. I was assured, on-line, that the fellow's behaviour would be addressed and corrected. Next week, in I go, and the fellow greets me disrespectfully again. I told him that I would like someone else to assist me. He shouted "someone else" and laughed. I told him I was serious (and hearing that day). He went behind the racks and loudly complained that I wanted someone else to help me. He did carry on a bit, making quite a scene, but a polite young woman came out and assisted me. I bought my two loaves, went home, contacted the Cobs chap who had been my on-line contact, and told him that I called BS on his address and correct initiative with this fool. No response from him. No more bread purchased by me from that particular Westshore Cobs ever again. Good bread, total jerk employee. Avoidance...
Read moreMy sister loves this bakery and when I visit we always make it a regular stop. For her birthday I called Andrew, the owner from my home in Ottawa and asked how I could get her a "bread basket" of goodies. Andrew said he would be happy to deliver it himself - what an generous thing to do! The boxes (all 8 of them!) were gaily wrapped with ribbon. My sister loved the surprise and called me right away to tell me she was going to brew a cup of coffee and make a start on the goodies with her daughter who flew in for a birthday surprise. I have a great picture to share but as I can't post it here, I have sent it to Andrew for he and his always, always pleasant and smiling staff.
Well done Andrew! The news and picture of the delicious delivered goods was on our family Facebook within 3 minutes. What...
