If I could rate this service as zero I would. My daughter and I went in with 2 coupons (kids bx free w/ purchase, and 50% off another box w/ purchase). No customers were in the restaurant, just us. There was obviously a new hire at the counter, I asked for beef and no cilantro (1st time), she called the manager/owner (Pabitra is on my receipt), he approached the till with an annoyed aggressive attitude. He told me I couldn't use the two coupons in the same order, so I asked to make two orders. I gave him the first order. (2nd time)
His system crashed.
Customers came in.
I gave the order again. (3rd time) I needed to swap the box to bowl while I waited to see if my wife wanted spice or not. So I could get the first order in hoping my wife would get back to me while I paid.
My wife didn't get back to me yet so I gave him my second order again, the one with the box. (4th time). Mistakes happen. I wasn't frustrated. Then paid for my second order.
I asked for my receipt because the prices seemed high $53. He served the other customers first, while they made my food. I read my reciept and saw chicken not beef. When I asked him, He told me I said chicken, blaming me then said to me I already have my food confirming to me that I said chicken. I said ok, it's my fault then and left. Kinda baffled, but defeated.
I got home opened my food and had rice for both bowls when I specifically said chowmein noodles in atleast 2 of my verbal pronunciations.
I called back and explained my frustrations, he again tried to repeat it was my fault by telling me I wasn't prepared with my order, so I began to stand up for myself and explain where he went wrong. He then said I can drive the food back and he can remake it. Which I would have been okay with that if I was in the restraunt but not after I got all the way home and was ready to eat. I guess I was expecting a little better service for my trouble along with being very disappointed, at the minimum for a future visit.
He was still abrasive with me and I returned saying to him that I will write a review for my problems. He then said I can go ahead and write this review and he wasn't going to remake food then hung up. Not sure if I would have trusted my food at that point.
I'd say probably the worst customer service I have had in decades, even when it's bad, people atleast usually try.
I really don't write reviews a lot.
I ordered a kids teriyaki box mild and a Thai style chow mein box w/beef no cilantro mild , ginger beef box med , shanghai crispy chicken box med all with chowmein noodles and a, last second bubble tea.
I asked him for a suggestion between two bowls, he said no it's not the same for him as it is me. I asked about terriyaki sauce on the side or another sauce in the kids box, because my daughter doesn't like sweet sauce. He said no to on the side, or cooking with no sauce, or having another sauce. While no customers were in the restaurant.
Sorry for being a customer who has to make choices for more than just myself in a take out restaurant.
SOOOOOO ANNOYED! hence me spending an hour and a half to...
Read moreI've been going to this location off and on for years since the day it opened after tonight. I will never go back tonight.I ordered the usual spicy peanut with extra cilantro, as you'll see in the picture, it said no cilantro, as I was walking out the door I realized that I said no, so when I went back to the counter and asked why no cilantro, she claimed, I asked for that which I did not I told her I asked for extra cilantro, so she took the box, went to the end of the kitchen for a a few seconds and then came back and said it was fixed. I asked if it was in all in the box. She said, no, when I opened it, as you'll see in the picture was the few little sprigs that were put on, and I paid for extra cilantro, and they also charged me for a black bag, which I didn't ask for a bag. I was hand taking it out. My wife ordered drunken noodle with extra veg. No ginger and in the picture, you'll see what it says. She got very little veg and it says, no garlic, we asked why you said no garlic, the answer was that the ginger and garlic were combined, so that's why they didn't put in any garlic in all the years that I've been going to noodlebox since the 1st day it came to the lower island I have been to every location and not one of them has told me. That the ginger and garlic are together. They are both separate. So now that we tried them with the alternate taste, i will not be back to that location. What I complained they just shrug their shoulders at me. Some people will try and say it was a language barrier, that is not an excuse. I don't care where you come from. So if you're working in the food industry. You shouldn't be able to understand simple english when taking someone's order for a meal that they request. And so in Reading other reviews, it seems this restaurant is almost at the bottom. I we'll no longer be going to this restaurant. At least the one in victoria and Duncan. Still served correct meals when ordered you, and the fact that they charged me for a bag, which I never use and extra stuff that I never got as to my frustration and attitude towards this business. I see you answered me the same as you answered everybody else with the email, well I did and nothing you done about that. So it's kinda useless to say the same message to everyone that complains because you can't take care of your business, you don't deserve to continue running if thats all that happens and the service...
Read moreDON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. If I could rate this place a zero I would. Noodlebox used to be one of the best food establishments in Victoria in terms of ordering for takeout. I know this because I've been eating there with my parents since I was 11.
I'm 22 now and over the years it has dramatically declined in all aspects of restruant but primarily cleanliness, food quality, and overall flavor. Not only that but if you have a complaint the staff either are either very rude or will blatantly tell you you're wrong or try to make up excuses. I'm sad to say they should probably be shut down by health standards and I'm honestly thinking about reporting this location to the Island Health Authorities.
I ordered a "Chinese-Style Fried Rice" box today over DoorDash with veggie spring rolls and a drink. I was EXTREMELY unsatisfied and was disgusted when I opened the box of food and started eating it, only to pull out a chunk of egg ribbon covered in blue-ish/green fuzzy spots of mold that was growing on it. Not only that but it had been mixed into the rest of the food and other protein and the chicken also bits of mold on there. When we drove all the way back to return it and ask for a refund we where told "No, that's just the purple cabbage mixing with the yellow in the egg and creating a greenish colour." (BS) And we as long time patrons we were only offered for the noodlebox to be remade. (Which also came out disgusting and was thrown away like the other.) This just embarrassing and completely irresponsible to be honest and I'm surprised you haven't given someone food poisoning yet. Sad to say I'll never be ordering from this location again and maybe not even from the franchise ever again. & I will actually miss the food when it was done properly :( clean, fresh & safe/edible.
Disclaimer: (Please keep in mind that I am actually educated in this particular thing and would never trash a restruant other than to save people a real bad experience going to that establishment. I have taken the Culinary Arts Program at VIU and was taught by 2 Red Seal chefs at a university/high level and also have my foodsafe certification. I know when food is soiled/rotten and wouldn't exaggerate.
