Authentic Mexican Experience with a Modern Touch
From the moment I walked into El Patron Taqueria Bar, it was clear that this place offers a truly authentic Mexican dining experience. The staff’s genuine hospitality and the diverse crowd, which included many Mexican customers, spoke volumes about the restaurant’s credibility.
Food:
• Nachos with Cochinita Pibil: These nachos were unlike any I’ve had before—absolutely delicious and worth trying. • Birria Tacos: The tacos themselves were amazing, but the accompanying broth fell flat in terms of flavor. • Rice Pudding: Standard fare; nothing to write home about. • Flan: A solid choice for dessert, well-prepared and tasty.
Spice Level:
The restaurant serves three sauces with the meals, and let me warn you, two of them are not for the faint-hearted. The green sauce was the mildest among them, but it might still be a bit too spicy for some.
Customer Service:
Top-notch. It’s evident that the team at El Patron genuinely cares about their customers.
Atmosphere:
Cozy and inviting. I heard they even host live singers and karaoke on weekends, which I’m eager to experience on my next visit.
Minor Issues:
The only drawback was the use of QR codes for accessing the menu, which isn’t my preferred method.
Final Thoughts:
Despite the minor hiccup, El Patron Taqueria Bar delivers an authentic and satisfying dining experience. Note that they’re currently waiting for their alcohol license, but their food and atmosphere more than...
Read moreOverall ok experience but unfortunately not going back simply because there's way more choices in Mtl. We went with family for el dia de la independencia so ambiance was great on that Friday night. Singer is amazing, good entertainment and has a great sense of humor. Fortunately, we made a reservation but our table wasn't ready when we got there and they literally squeezed us at the back. Food was overpriced compared to the portions and to more authentic mexican restaurants, but tasty. Although, my tortilla soup was all smushy. Service was good considering the place was packed. Unfortunately, we were discreetly asked to leave when the owner brought us the check without asking if we wanted something else and still had food in my plate. It felt very rude considering the restaurant is pretty new and you should build a clientele. In September, the restaurant was still missing their alcohol permit so coffee and soft...
Read moreGreat food, service and amazing atmosphere. I went on a saturday evening around 8PM and there was a live singer (seems to be there fridays and saturdays from 7-10PM) who was very entertaining. In terms of food, very delicious and for some reason their seasoning was amazing that any food that I ordered complemented each other and I ended up eating a lot! Ate pozole rojo, tacos birria (comes with fries or salad, took the salad and it complements the tacos very well), horchata and tried the sopa de tortilla (spicier than what I've tried before but still great!), tacos cochinita pibil and the flautas. With all of that, 3 different sauces from mild to spicy, all tasting great. I would definitely come back again to keep trying the whole menu. A jewel to...
