George's — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

NOT RECOMMANDED :: I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. While eating a smoked meat sandwich, I discovered a black piece of plastic inside my food. When I took it out, it looked exactly like a piece of a garbage bag that had been cut and ended up in my sandwich.

I immediately showed it to the worker and the owner. The worker first thought it was a piece of his black gloves, but when he checked, he realized it wasn’t – it was not elastic like a glove, but more like a garbage bag. When I asked the owner how such a thing could end up in my food, his only answer was, “I don’t know.”

As a restaurant owner, I believe the minimum reaction should have been to apologize, show some responsibility, and at least offer some form of compensation. Instead, I received no apology, no concern, and no effort to make things right.

This shows a complete LACK of HYGIENE, professionalism, and respect for customers. Honestly, the place felt cheap and dirty, and I would NOT RECOMMAND anyone...

Walking inside, i went up to the counter the man just stared at me without greeting, i asked how much they sell 2 lbs of smoke meat, i also asked if i could get medium lean and used the term more on the medium side and he looked at me like i didn’t know what i wanted with a very arrogant demeanor and just basically replied “so you want medium lean or medium?” Completely not understanding my explanation. Did not receive friendly customer service. Smoke meat was dry, did not taste fresh lacked flavour. Wanted to try something different but for the price and what it is you’re better off...

When I walked in on a Saturday at dinner time and the resto was empty except for some friends of the cook, I should have known better. The meat had a weird oily texture with no flavor. It tasted like it was boiled. I tried 3 bites and couldn't finish. I think the cook could see my displeasure so he kept his back to me while he chatted with his friends. He wasn't curious as to why I left all my food. Unfortunately my partner ate his sandwich and is paying the price this morning. Really bad food and unprofessional behavior from the staff....
