L'Oeuficiel — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

I liked my experience at L'Oeuficiel, even though its name is yet another cringe worthy pun off the word egg.

Anyways I came here with low eggspections but I was really suprised on how well everything turned out. We were promptly seated and I went with their Swiss cheese and ham Egg Benedict. The side was some fried potatoes and a bowl of fresh fruits. No bread, unlimited filter coffee for about $13.

The Egg Benedict was good but not the best I've had. I felt the English muffin too hard for my taste. Also having some bread with this meal would help clear up the yolk mess the meal left behind! Yum yum. The fried potatoes were just ok. The bowl of fruits was very fresh and good.

Our waitress Isabelle was eggcellent, taking care of a dozen tables and the wait time was close to non-existent. She was very friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. Service was exceptional.

Terrible service. They do not own English menus. What restaurant doesn't have bilingual menus? Waited 10min for water, waited another 10 min for coffee. Then waited 10 min for cutlery to stir my coffee. Waited another 10min to get our order out, then waited another 10min to check in on our order, only to find out that we had to wait a little bit more to get our food because it wasn't near ready. So we waited 50 min at the table and did not receive our meal. I understand it was Fathers day, yes its busy for all restaurants, but still I did not get good service or a meal. We decided to cancel our order, and spoke to our waitress and asked for the bill to pay for our coffees as we waited there long enough. First time I walked in and felt a charm and cosy feeling. Lovely hostess and service right off the bat. The colours choices of the place, layout, especially towards the back where it’s all windows make you feel good sitting and enjoying your breakfast. Plenty of food choices, well priced. I’m a simple breakfast guy...eggs, toast, potatoes....but I tried the chilli it was delicious! Had a bowl of fruit varieties came with dates even coconut. Wife had avocado omelet which she loved as well. Overall I highly recommend this place....
