Mirage New York - Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

Disgusting place, ate there today, not impressed, the food was disgusting, so I’d left most of it. It wasn’t the sort of place I’d usually eat, but the work guys wanted to try it, so I thought I’d go with them. Wasn’t too bothered about the food, wasn’t really hungry and hadn’t expected fine dining. It’s a dirty run down looking place, so you know the foods not going to be great. So I clearly didn’t enjoy the food, as the majority was uneaten, the waitress then comes with our bills, I pay mine, it was like $39, I gave $45, the waitress went insane, hurling abuse, telling me I had to give her $15 mimumum tip. Very strange, I’m not from around here, so I asked the guys I was with, who’re locals, what the norm was, they said it wasn’t like the states where it was expected, and 10% was what they usually tipped, so why this lazy abusive waitress had decided I had to pay her a $15 tip for a $40 meal that I’d not even eaten was bizarre. I put the change back in my pocket, I’m definitely not tipping someone so arrogant & disgustingly entitled. Sadly me and my work colleagues that are visiting have received similar treatment in several places in Laval, but when we go half an hour down the road to Montreal we’re treated far more professionally, and the food is far better, with good service and good food I’m more than happy to tip. It seems Laval might have a bit of a bigotry problem...

Love these Greek style restaurants - good food with great choices for the whole family. Been there for a while - the new version is nice and relaxing - makes you feel like hanging out longer than you should.

I keep going back - I like it . I read the paper - you have guy food - girl food -kid food - a nice atmosphere. These types of restaurants are important to the local residents - can't keep going to one type of food restos.

Give it a try when you want something the wife doesn't want to eat then you offer up Mirage New York and its a win win. They offer almost everything - its like having your cake and eating it too.

My girlfriend and I went for breakfast this morning ,it was very quiet . We were seated and received our coffees and and after about 15min I had to get a refill my coffee seeing that the waitress was no where to be found. I received breakfast which was cold and eggs seemed undercooked , never once did the waitress come around and ask if everything was to our liking.
