This is the third branch of Rockaberry we tried after Griffintown and Monkland Av. Unlike the Griffintown one where you get savory dishes as well, this one is only beverages and desserts. Went on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. We got the table immediately but it took a lot of time for them to come to our table for even the initial conversation. A few of the servers serving the other tables passed by but nobody had the courtesy to even just say, "Someone will be with you shortly". We had almost made up the mind to leave although we saw it was the same for the table next to us. Having said that, the gentleman who attended our table eventually was very good, courteous and friendly. We went for a coffee, Peach & Raspberry Ice Tea, Apple Crumble with ice cream and a Strawberry Shortcake. Loved all of them. I've been a fan of their Apple Crumble and have never been disappointed. Parking is not a problem as there's a big parking lot outside in the plaza. Good place if you have all the time in the world as their service is super slow.

Walked in and it wasn’t very busy so when we were seated I expected a server to come to take our order. Instead we sat there and watched as others were seated after us and their tables were set with napkins and silverware. When someone came to ask if everything was ok ( I mean the table was empty) I told him that we hadn’t had our order taken nor any silverware. He then proceeded to take our order saying that there wasn’t any of our choice left- they only had 4 cakes left . So we ordered and then he came back with an OOPS we have what you wanted. There was not even an apology for the misinformation.. would I come back here ? Maybe but only for takeout not for service because like I said the place was not busy so there is no excuse to provide poor customer service. The music was good.

A great variety of rich-tasting pies just like I remembered from years ago. You can purchase an entire pie to go or just a slice. Each slice averages $9 - $9.50 but it is huge - way more than a person should eat in one sitting 😮. Our waitress was very friendly and took the time to check on us and joke with us, which made for a pleasant experience. Thank you for that! NOTE: we were told that post-Covid, their menu consists only of dessert pies and a variety of coffees - they no longer serve food-food which was a little disappointing. Also, the 10:30pm closing time on Friday and Saturday nights could be stretched a little in my opinion. Nice location in Laval with a good vibe.

Service H O R R I B L E

EDIT AFTER THE OWNER ANSWERS: We were indeed informed of a 15-minute wait time due to a lack of available seating. We had no issue with this and were perfectly fine waiting. However, we were not informed about the limited number of waitstaff or the group of 35 that arrived later, which could have explained the delays more clearly. I understand the concern about us leaving quickly, but it was not our intention to dine and dash. The reason we swiftly paid and left was because the overall experience was not enjoyable, and we didn't want to linger longer. You stopped us at the door to directly disrespect your client who does that? You have no mannerism to dare saying that after that horrendous experience. The tip issue arose because we felt that the service had been subpar. While we understand the challenges of a busy night, we didn't feel that we received the level of service expected. We would have appreciated a more attentive and accommodating approach given the circumstances. The people that didn't order a cake were taking a lemonade and were sharing the cakes between us. Imagine judging people that are eating about the amount of food that you take you have no shame. YOU ARE RUDE...

Love the pies, but had an absolutely abysmal customer service experience. I called wanting to go pick up two pieces of pie. Context: I live 2 blocks away. The person who answered the phone said "I can't keep them for you because I don't know if a waitress reserved them or not." To which I replied "Can you check because I can be there in 5 minutes." The answer I get? "If you come in 5 minutes, then it's fine." Didn't take my name or number.

So I understand the concern he expressed, but he refused to suddenly agree to my request without checking is either a lie about the waitresses reserving pieces or laziness in not wanting to check which could have resulted in me going there for nothing. Either way, what the heck is that?

When I got there, he explained to me that they typically do not do takeout orders. So a customer cannot order food and pick it up? That would be a first in the restaurant industry. And even if that's true, why not simply say that over the phone?

To top it off, he informed me he's the manager of the store. If this is management, I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere...
