"From the moment we stepped into Portovino Laval, we knew we were in for a treat. Celebrating my wife's birthday couldn't have been more delightful. The ambiance was charming, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. We started our culinary journey with the veg pizza, which was a burst of flavors and freshness in every bite. The combination of vibrant vegetables and perfectly melted cheese on a crispy crust was divine. Next up was the penne romanoff pasta, a dish that elevated comfort food to a whole new level. The creamy sauce, balanced with just the right amount of tanginess, coated each penne perfectly. It was comfort on a plate, with a touch of elegance. And who could forget the Pane de Agilo with melted cheese? It was a heavenly indulgence that we couldn't get enough of. The crispy exterior gave way to a gooey, cheesy interior that was pure bliss. Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable, adding to the overall exceptional experience. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a memorable celebration. In conclusion, Portovino Laval exceeded our expectations in every way. It's a culinary gem where every dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving exquisite Italian cuisine, Portovino Laval is the place to be. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience."

Went here for a birthday party. We were nine people. first I must say the food is nothing special, and more than overpriced for the quantity and quality, $25.00 for Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce. lol. Before ordering, a glass of water accidentally spilled, we had to clean it up our selves, but they did supply the towels. The waiter came by and asked if there were any questions, after the first question was asked and answered he walked away, but there were more questions. We did bring our own wine, had to ask for a wine bucket and opened the bottles ourselves. I ordered the Mussels $33.00, which were very good (fries were the best part). With an appetizer of Fried Calamari which was 8 pieces, charge was $27.00 for the Calamari (see photo). Wife ordered a Margarita Pizza another over priced item at $23.00. For dessert we had our own BD cake, with coffee, never even asked if we wanted more coffee. And to top it off, they charge $3.00/slice to cut the birthday cake. Wouldn't mind if the service was good and the cake wasn't served on warm plates. This place is overpriced for the quality and amount of food on the plates. Definitely on the "no return" list for us.

Overall: 5,7/10 FOOD Food was okay. Our pasta were not easy to chew and to swallow. It was really hard to finish...and we didn't even finish it our plates for the majority. We were 15. Not a lot of flavor. We told our server what we thought and he truly didn't care really. Fried calamari: They were okay. Not bad, not great. Ragottini con pollo: Where was the pollo? I don't know. SERVICE Well...let's say that it was more of a "what do you want? Do you need something? Pasta is too unchewable aka too thick aka too al denté? That's how it is here" I mean...he wasn't mean but wasn't kind either. Just okay. We had Niko and...he was just okay. THE VIBE Great vibe. Beautiful looking restaurant. Music is not too loud, just enough. The waiters looked professional. It's really a beautiful restaurant. At least the bathrooms are really beautiful and clean. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. You should make your own opinion. But I wouldn't go back.

When I booked the reservation, the girl on the phone specifically told me they only offer 2 services. One at 6 pm and one at 8:30 pm. I booked for 6 pm and the table was reserved till 8-8:15 the latest I was told. We were 6 , they placed us on the second floor, no issues, they even asked if anyone had reduced mobility. We were reminded every time someone came to our table that we had to leave at 8 pm. After 10 times of hearing it, it got annoying. We kept telling the waiters we know , we understand, but still, every time someone came to the table, it was repeated. It wasn't even 7:30 yet, and the waiters kept coming to ask us if they could take away our plates. My friend next to me, with her fork still in her hand , clearly hadn't finished. Why even ask if you can visually see her eating her tartar. I got the veal with vegetables instead of pasta. The vegetables and sauce on the veal were good, but the pieces were very small. They tried to mask it by the abundance of sauce covering them. It was 3 pieces about 2 inches by 2 inches. One friend felt sick right after finishing the arancini. The salads were drowning in salt. All in all, it was a bad experience on all our parts. They didn't offer coffee or dessert. Brought us all the bills by 8 pm, and we left by 8:07pm, went somewhere else for coffee and dessert. Honestly, I found it overpriced for the amount of food. Payed 58 $ for a main meal. It is a BYOW restaurant but I think they charge more because of it. I told our main waiter that they didn't need to keep reminding us we had to leave by 8:15. We are adults. He told me, don't shoot the messenger. Clearly, the management instist they keep reminding customers. He also told me they don't tell customers at the second service at 8:30 because they don't need to , it's the last service. I'm assuming big groups don't have a time limit because the birthday party behind us was still there when we left. We won't be coming back. For the price and atmosphere, I can name 10 restaurants in centropolis and carrefour laval that you'll have a better time at , food , price...

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype or the Price

We had high hopes for our brunch at Portovino Laval, but unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. We arrived for our 10:30am reservation, starting with a crepe and an omelet, and were looking forward to relaxing with some coffee before getting more food. To our surprise, at 11:45am—while we were still mid-meal—the waiter approached to let us know we had 10 minutes left before we had to leave, as the next seating was at 12:30pm. This was the first time we were informed of any kind of time limit. Neither during the reservation process nor when we walked in were we told that our table was timed. After that warning, the whole experience turned sour. We felt rushed and uncomfortable, as if we needed to wolf down our food and get out. That’s not how anyone wants to feel during a supposedly relaxed brunch. To top it off, after spending $145 (after tax and tip) on what was a very average and now tainted meal, we asked to speak with the owner to share our concerns. Unfortunately—and perhaps unsurprisingly—he showed zero interest in our feedback. Safe to say, we won’t be coming back, and we certainly won’t be recommending Portovino to friends or family. There are plenty of places in Laval that offer great food and respectful customer service. This isn’t...
