This is definitely a restaurant that makes it a lot more fun when it's a bigger group. It gives you the opportunity to order more things from their menu and try different seafood. Each item in their menu is quite a big portion and expensive, so it would not be easy to go in a smaller group. As much as the food was enjoyable, we had flies all over our table the whole night and it made the dining experience a lot less enjoyable. I was also hoping they would give out tools to crack the shells but they did not have any so we had to crack everything with our hands or our teeth. As fun as it is at first, it gets pretty tough by the end of it and I don't think that's any good for the teeth as well. The service was polite. They were also efficient but I feel like they were not welcoming nor friendly at all. The water was spilling on the table when it was served and the food was served by one of the waitresses that did not look happy at all. Throughout the whole night, no one checked on us and we didn't have a single refill of water from start to finish. I usually wouldn't mind but the problem was that the food was pretty salty. Even though the seafood was quite fresh and tasty, they were dunked in the same sauce that was flavourful at first, but the more you eat it, the more salty you realise it is and by the end of the meal, we were pretty tired of the flavour. Of course they had a sauce that came with the food to change the flavours from time to time, but for a 150$ item in their menu, I wish they would allow us to pick more than just one sauce.

I have been to Seau de Crabe in Laval with my family twice now, and each visit has been a hit from start to finish! The food is full of flavour, the atmosphere is lively, and the customer service is outstanding, especially thanks to Joanna, the manager, who truly goes above and beyond. She is attentive, kind, and made sure we felt welcome and taken care of both times. On our first visit, we ordered the Family Bucket with their signature sauce—a rich, buttery, garlicky blend that coats the seafood perfectly. We also tried the seafood pasta, calamari, dynamite shrimps, and a kids meal. I was amazed when my son, who’s usually a picky eater, finished everything on his plate! That says a lot. The second time, we went with the Sea Fest Bucket, again with the signature sauce because it’s just that good. I could not resist ordering the seafood pasta again—the sauce is so creamy and flavourful, it’s a dish I would come back for on its own! Both visits were consistent in quality and care, and the staff makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you are craving fresh, well-seasoned seafood and a team that takes care of you, Seau de Crabe is a must-try in Laval. Looking forward to visit #3! Merci beaucoup!

We went Jan. 25th as a small group. We got there, zero welcoming, rude service as if we were a bother. There was 2 ladies and a man as the waiting service. We were never given water or asked if we wanted drinks or a something to start. I had to flag the lady down to understand how things worked to order food. She was in a hurry and they all seemed very disorganized. The food was fantastic, lobster tail overcooked tho. We needed scissors for the crab as it was pretty hard to crack the big parts, again no service so we had to leave them in the plate 🤬🥺 Lots of food waisted. Our child really wanted water, I have asked a few times for water and we never received them. This was such a disappointment because of the service. Being short staff like this is not acceptable. Badly managed I would say. All this to say, the atmosphere was pretty bad because of all the craziness and running around like headless chickens. Food was amazing, with there house sauce. But no worth the headache of waiting or being brushed off as a bother.

The food was good overall, although the fries in the kids’ menu were a bit spicy for toddlers.

Sadly, the service left a lot to be desired. We felt largely ignored by the servers. When our food arrived, we weren’t given any utensils, napkins, or disposable gloves. We started looking around, unsure if we were supposed to grab these items from the front. Only after flagging down a different server did they bring over a bucket that contained everything—which we later realized also doubles as a trash bin, something that wasn’t explained to us as first-time visitors.

We also needed an empty cup but we didn't have anyone assigned to our table. To be clear, I’m not writing this from a place of entitlement. I noticed a few attitude-related issues I’ll refrain from detailing because I don't want this to come off as petty.

That said, I do appreciate that some staff members, noticing how we were being treated, made an effort to be kind. One of them gave my child a coloring book and smiled at him, which I appreciate. We did leave a tip out of appreciation for those small gestures.

I hope this review is taken constructively. Servers are the face of a restaurant, and while everyone can have a bad day, first impressions matter. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

PS: I ordered lobster but was served crab so double check with the staff before ordering because if they open the bag they won't change...
