Sushido Laval — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

I'm impressed! I loved the hip atmosphere of the restaurant and the excellent food. This restaurant is located in a shopping center close to a Dollarama store and as we walked in at lunch hour we felt like we were in a chic & sophisticated place, not a fast food shop. The chefs actually wore black chefs coat. And 80s music was playing overhead but at a nice relaxed level. We were able to converse without screaming at each other. This was our first time and the chef recommended a few items based on our tastes. We got several different menu items. My daughter got 4 different sushi for her meal. My husband got the Singapore noodle with chicken as his meat choice. I got the sushi lunch combo D, which came with coffee and choice of soup or salad. I know it is a strange combo but there's a lot of French and Asian influences here. Everything was delicious! There were so much flavor in vegetables side soup. I could tell that the soup broth was made with fresh ingredients, using fresh ginger for a mild spice. We've had many sushi at other sushi restaurants but it seems that the rice used here is more dense and more filling. The Singapore noodle dish came with a small bowl of fish sauce, which is used a lot in Asian cuisine as a condiment. Some may find the smell of fish sauce offending but it does makes everything tastes delicious. For dessert, we went with the chef's reccomendation. We were afraid to eat it because it was beautifully presented as a flower. We were not told the name of the dessert but it had Cocoa crumbs, banana wrapped in a certain sushi paper. It was delicious! We highly recommend for the food, the atmosphere...

BEWARE! Stay away from this place! Their food is not clean nor safe! I'm not writing this post to complain but rather to protect any other person getting sick from consuming their food. Ive been to this place twice, and both times were the worst experience ive ever had in my life in a restaurant. 1st time we found a big piece of plastic in my sushi, which the rather unprofessional and vulgar manager blamed me and my husband that its not their fault and blamed us. This was clearly a piece of plastic from packaging the food which i almost choked on.

Went back a second time just cause human error does happen and wanted to give this place a second chance. Disapointment once again! Hair embedded in my sushi! Went back to the restaurant to tell the 'so called' manager about my experience. Instead of excusing herself and act as a profesional she screamed at me in front of everyone and embarassed me, screaming at my face and told me to leave the restaurant and that she refuses to serve me...

Please see pictures and judge for yourselves... But whats more repulsif was not the food but the manager that seriously needs to get some 101 customer service skills cause her low class manners and unprofessionalism has and will keep many clients away...

The price is good but they could do a better job like serving the rice 🍙 but they served us both: cold rice.

Like what?! We never eat cold rice for a meal with the meats hot but rice all cold. Just don’t make sense. Plus the rice portion too little like preparing it for little kids meal, not an adult size portion.

The egg roll was ok and the soup as well: just average.

I’m really disappointed 😔! Thought it was popular and they would do good in food portions, price and service. The service was weird because she didn’t bring us the utensils 🍴 and napkins until after our food was served. Everything was done afterwards. It wasn’t even prepared for us.

The big plate was chipped and damaged. It’s not presentable, they should just replaced it. Always keep good dishes and never serve broken dishes to customers.

The desserts were fried small bananas. It didn’t tasted fresh at all even though it was hot. It tasted old and it was refried a few times. U can tell by the taste and texture of it. Leftovers from other days.

Overall just disappointment. Try...
