B12 BURGER — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

No photos as I don’t think it would make much of a difference.

So this location is a big hang out late night for the late night crowd and at 11:00 pm mid week they were still busy. Is this a testament to their food - perhaps.

So here is what I have found.

Place is not so clean and they seem to be focused inside the kitchen area. Many tables were dirty. Washroom was not well kept either.

Service was fair to average. You walk up state your order select a place to sit and then you’re advised when your food is ready.

Atmosphere is basically a fast food restaurant with a little bit more style. Not a place to dress up that’s for sure.

So let’s get down to the food.

Fries - not worth the money nor the calories. It’s very average and frozen like fries.

Burger. Although the burger and all other ingredients seemed fresh, the issue is the actual burger seasoning. Why? Because this is not a typical North American hamburger seasoning. This tasted similar if not the exact same as eating Beef Kefta Kebabs - except formed in a hamburger patty and placed in a bun etc. so what the problem with this - nothing, if this is the type of cooked ground beef product you’re intending to experience. So what’s the problem? I personally did not like the fact that these were not what North Americans call burgers, they should in fact be properly identified as Kefta Kebab Burgers or Kefta Burgers to communicate to the consumer about what the flavour profile to expect. It is for this reason that I did not enjoy eating here and felt somewhat jilted as there was no way I could decipher any communications in their advertising and communications that their burger recipe is difference from what all typical Hamburger flavours are expected to taste like. So I got the burger and ate it and in addition to the burger tasting unacceptable to me, it was also slightly undercooked. So all in all not a pleasant experience. The can’t be an explain how or why the food was poorly cooked aside from it being late and busy with clients but that’s purely a guess.

I will not return to this place mainly because the entire B12 Burger chain food tastes the same - as it’s a franchise, and as such I do not wish to eat a Kefta Burger - I do not appreciate nor enjoy the seasoning as it’s very specific. Some may like this but not me. I do love middle eastern and Mediterranean food - bud sadly not their recipe for this Kefta Burger. I think the restaurant should rename the place B12 Kefta Burgers.

Overall the experience was very uneventful and bland. It’s not a place I would like to hang out as it lacks personality and identity. It’s like someone came up with the idea “let’s use our grandmothers Kefta kebab recipe and make it for burgers and create a burger chain”. And they quickly set out to create an image and design with a very uncreative menu.

There are way too many burger places in this city offering much better quality meat, fries etc than other better value.

However…..

If you are of a middle eastern taste palate preference you may actually appreciate the flavouring of this Kefta Burger. All other items on the menu are generic but you may really like the Kefta burger as it is like an eating a Kefta kebab in a burger bun with all the accouterments.

So decide for yourself. Middle eastern/Lebanese seasoning Kefta burger or not.

I gave it a 3 star as it ranges in the average as well as its cleanliness, overall experience, value, uniqueness, and failure to communicate to the consumer of the unexpected unique seasoning of the burger that no longer makes it a typical and predictable burger...
