I've heard really positive reviews about this restaurant from friends and family, but I was not impressed by it. I came with a big group around 1pm, 10 people, so perhaps this was the problem, but on every point, the restaurant fell short of my expectations.
Once the whole party arrived, because to get seated you need to all be there, we actually got a table quite quickly, in the adjoining dining room that's attached to Milsa.
From there, it took the waitress about 20 minutes to come see us for juice and coffee, which we had to ask for about 5 times because she forgot this person's coffee or that person's grape juice. After that, it took another 10 to 15 minutes for her to take our food orders, so by this time the kids were crawling on the walls with hunger.
I got an American Burger and my partner got a Strawberry Banana Crepe. My burger came with two sides, which I was impressed by, and the Caesar salad was great. The fries had no seasoning and the burger was unexpectedly quite big, but also just okay. It didn't have bacon on it, which I thought was interesting. I would've thought American = Bacon, but I guess not.
Others in my group got waffles, pancakes, a standard two eggs with meat. One person in particular found a piece of metal on their plate which was quite shocking. I felt so bad, because they had just started eating at that point, and obviously didn't want to continue eating.
The waitress we had, as mentioned above, was quite slow and needed constant reminders about juice she forgot to bring, coffee refills we wanted, and additional maple syrup we were asking for. I understand that she had our group of 10 to worry about and another big group in that same room, but we wouldn't have minded a wait as long as she brought our items after asking once.
All in all, I clearly need to try this restaurant again with a smaller party and see if a different dish tastes better or if the service experience is smoother, because it feels bad to write off Petinos after one go. However, as far as first impressions, I'm not...

To follow up in response to owner. The first visit, my breakfast was $20 for 2 eggs, toast, pate, sausage, fruit, potatoes, basically a standard breakfast, but about $5 to $10 more than elsewhere. The quality of the food was not fresh at all, the sausage was dried out and small, and the little fruit salad had dirty pieces of chopped up apple that looked like someone had chewed on it previously and didn't eat, and the resto just they gave it to the next customer. I was really grossed out, and only noticed as i was eating it. Also the table was sticky as was the floor under my table.
I tried to give this restaurant a second chance recently, but again I was dissapointed with the food quality and prices. Also the second time i went, they wanted to charge me extra to share with my 4 year old, who barely eats for the exact same portion of food. If i order 1 plate, and you are going to charge extra, i better get extra servings, im not paying $21 plus $3 more for the same amount of food to share with my toddler. We got the waffle selection this time. Also the sausages again were overcooked and my eggswhites were stringy and undercooked. I make a better quality breakfast at home and eggsquis has better quality over petinos for cheaper. If i want a better quality breakfast ill go to ben and florentine or elsewhere.
Just want to mention $10 to $14 kids menu is ridiculous, especially when children don't eat much. Make smaller portions, lower your prices, you'll have better quality food, and not have to charge $3 to share because more people will order from the kids menu.
I won't be returning after both terrible...
Read moreNEWEST UPDATE: Prices are insane, especially on Uber Eats (additional $4-$5 up charge on every item). Be prepared, the food is great but the prices are about 1.5x to 2x other breakfast restaurants and restaurants in general. Avocado toast is $26, hamburger meals are around $30, $24 for 3 pancakes with a coffee or tea.
Avocado toast is $26. Avocado toast with salmon? $29. So salmon is worth an additional $3? Okay. Side avocado? $7. So, if salmon is $3, and avocado is $7, then the toast in the avocado salmon toast is valued at $19? lol
NEW UPDATE: We ordered from their site again, showed up on time for the order, then had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the order. On top of waiting it was insanely crowded in the entrance, full of people coughing up a storm. If I get sick I know where I got it.
UPDATE: A few times now I have placed orders for takeout and showed up only to wait 10+ minutes. Recently I waited 10+ minutes for an order I put in an hour and a half in advance. Also, the "ambiance" here is pretty bad, it's mostly just very loud people crowded together. Food is great though.
Great food but pretty pricey. If you go to eat in person, rather than take out, be aware that it will likely be packed if it's for breakfast. The parking lot is in a pretty terrible state with pot holes, and when it's busy it's pretty annoying to maneuver. Atmosphere is pretty terrible, it's just crowded and loud, can barely hear people at your table or your server...
