La Memphré - Microbrasserie / Pub — Restaurant in Magog

We came two times. First visit was top notch and quick service with great food. Second time, was horrible. We waited in line for an hour. Once we got in, a waiter came and washed our table with a towel that was brownish and smelled very bad. The whole table was sticky. Then we ordered, the waiter was nice but he didn’t take any notes.

When the food came, it wasn’t at all what we ordered and a women that was serving became very rude and started arguing with us telling us that this was our order when we knew that isn’t what we asked for. She ended up telling me « Prends la dont ton assiette » and i took it because she was starting to get agitated. We then asked for a supervisor or a manager because clearly this wasn’t working out. When the manager came, we realized it was the rude women from earlier (which was quite ironic) and she kept repeating that she had never said anything rude to us and that we were lying about everything including our order. We ended up eating the food because it would of went to waist but we were quite mad and will never back again. The food was also over cooked dry and the frying of the fries seemed to be from a few days before.

Depending on the day you can get awesome service and food and the next time it can be disgusting and horrible service with very rude staff.

Horrible service, bad food and...

The hostess offered our group (2 families with 2 kids) a table which would be ready in a few minutes…then took it back claiming they were full. I asked for how long, she said 40 minutes. As we waited on the curb, we saw her proceed to seat larger groups without reservations. I returned to ask why we were turned away, the hostess was dumbfounded and couldn’t muster a response, blamed that we had a compact umbrella stroller which wouldn’t fit anywhere. I told her it wasn’t an issue and we could fold it up and leave it on the grass. She couldn’t respond. I asked to speak to a manager, again hostess could not tell us who this was and left to go check. Someone claiming to be the manager happened to walk out and see us looking irate. When we told her what happened, she would not acknowledge or take any responsibility, claimed I misunderstood (without speaking to her hostess to see what transpired). Clearly just discriminating against families. Our visit was at 1:15pm in the afternoon on a weekday. Needless to say, the lack of good management explains the pitiful service, and we will happily take our business elsewhere. There are exquisite restaurants...

Our first visit to this restaurant. I always noticed it is a very happening place with big line ups and full terraces. Must be good? It is not! The food is not - everything else is alright. We were three people and ordered different items. I had fish and chips (26$) - the fish was the standard, not impressive, frozen from a big box store type of fish and the fries were just equally just commercial potato fries. The type of bad meal I could but would not make make myself at home. My lunch companions ordered 1) hamburger (26$, yes I said 26 dollars!!) and declared it a mistake. 2) a veggieburger (24) and also didn’t enjoy the plate. Now aside from the quality of the food - it’s a fun place. Great location on the river flowing out of lake Memphremagog in Magog on Merry street. Terrific terrace for people watching and getting rowdy. The interior has a rustic decor of grab a beer and then some more, lol. The beer is delicious . I believe mine was called Kateville. A glass for 12$. I did see the attraction - big versatile menu, lots of twenty something dollar poutines and a fun ambience with great beer! So go, keep it basic and...
