Local cafe with lots of character! The lattes were beautiful made and the barista was very friendly! Great cafe to enjoy your day.
UPDATE Today I waited 40 min outside to be helped as I had my teacup puppy with me and knew I couldn’t bring her in. She doesn’t have a leash since she doesn’t go on the floor. I waited politely at the back door to be helped but none of the baristas helped me even though they saw I was holding a dog. In the past I was asked to wait in line with the dog so I did just that I brought the dog in my hands to quickly order food and go back outside, I explained to the barista helping me I am just quickly paying and will be sitting outside and if they could bring my food there. She said she will just give them to me now so I waited for less then two minutes for her to do just that. During that time a barista that was not even the one helping me interrupted and informed me my dog can’t be inside I explained I understand and proceeded to explain the situation but she repeated she can’t be inside… refusing to listen I walked away and went outside which was my original plan. Although I don’t know her name the barista is Asian and she did not handle the situation with kindness and understanding. Especially when the customers intention was to simply follow the rules. It is wonderful to have pet friendly spaces in our neighborhood but please when working be cautious of your surroundings as being a barista is more than just making the food and drinks and looking down. Also assume the best in your customers as it is no one’s intention to break the rules. Also assume the best in your coworkers and that they are handling the situation without you having...
Read moreGratia, +1.5, we showed up and ordered grilled cheese , latte no foam, coffee and jalapeno focaccia.
Grilled cheese is very inconsistent here. One time 2 good size slices, next time , 2 Pune end pieces. It never follows a spec size. Latte no foam, arrived with foam, I asked "so no foam?", the barista said , "yes latte, little foam", wasn't little foam, anyways, no big deal, it's just foam I thought to myself.
So 20 minutes goes by, I go back for my jalapeno focaccia, no one really knows about it. We look and there is an olive and onion focaccia sitting there which I saw 20 minutes ago. They said they ran out of jalapeno ones. So,I said can I get it heated again please. The thing came back steaming. So no big deal I went and sat down and thought to myself, well, if they didn't have jalapeno focaccia, did they just put out an olive one, hoping I would read their mind? I mean, what if that's someone else's. Anyways, I definitely got my exercise today walking aback and forth from the counter to round up my order lol. +3 if it was meant to be a coffee shop with a mysterious twist to everything.
It's always like this for me and my family when we do go there. Management need to smooth some of these problems out and they'd be one...
Read moreI was a regular visitor at gratia since moving to the area but after an experience had today I may consider other options. My partner, mother in law, father in law & myself came in for lunch today & ordered 3 sandwiches to go. We sat outside & someone quickly brought out one of the sandwiches that we ordered but packed for here, I quickly tried to ask the person if it was someone else’s. She was clearly in a rush & quickly dismissed me asking if we ordered the type of sandwich it was & I said yes but we got it to go & she said it was ours & quickly left. She came back a minute or so later with the same sandwich for here & stated I took someone else’s food, I quickly told her I had tried to tell her but she was in too much of a rush to listen. The person whose food it was originally even agreed she was rushing & not listening. She left again & a few minutes later I came in to grab a few more napkins & heard the worker telling another employee ‘someone out there took someone else’s food’. I found this not only unprofessional & rude, but also frustrating as I tried to tell her I didn’t think it was ours but she chose not to listen & completely dismiss what...
