Happy to see this place spring back after a fire during covid if I recall correctly... Went for the Dinner Buffet. They have a lunch buffet every day I think. The dinner buffet is Friday through Sunday. Tasty food, seemed like good quality ingredients. With a nice variety of dishes. There was a lot of available seating and the place wasn't busy (2 other tables in use), which is why the service was kinda shockingly bad (there was a high staff to guest ratio). I think it might have been just bad luck, or maybe just the person responsible doesn't understand buffet service expectations. In my opinion, even at a buffet service is important. Plus it's an opportunity for the staff to earn tips to share with the kitchen etc. It would take much effort to really elevate the experience. Clearing the plates, bringing more water, asking if I wanted anything else to drink... I just didn't feel the care you want to feel eating out somewhere. Hope the owner / manager sees. Will come back sometime and try again to see if it's a...
Read moreI visited this place on Thursday afternoon and place was empty. I called in before for my order although I was going to dine in, so I wouldn't waste any time, waiting for the food once I reach the restaurant. The person behind the counter didn't even respond to once I reached the place and finally after asking him he showed me a place to sit down. The person was on a phone call and didn't even ask for a glass of water or provide one. I had to wait another 15 minutes for my lamb biryani and this was additional to the 15 min heads up I gave them before I left my workplace. During this whole time he was on a phone call and I had to personally walk to the counter again for a glass of water. Finally when the food arrived, there was no raita given and I had to ask that multiple times before I got it. So all in all the food was ok in terms of taste but the service was horrendous and would never recommend anyone to this place ever. I would have understood if they would have been running full but the place was...
Read moreLived in Delta (Surrey-adjacent) for over 2 years and this is hands down the best Indian food I've had in the Lower Mainland - and I've tried a lot of restaurants. We only get take-out so I can't comment on the space, but the food we've gotten has been phenomenal. The lentil soup is incredible - flavourful, creamy yet not thick, delicious hot or cold. Mulligatawny is equally spectacular - even family members who can't handle spicy food devour this soup, because there is so much flavour and complexity that you can't stop eating it :) I also love the pakoras - I've been to so many restaurants that are all thick, heavy batter and unrecognizable vegetables, but all the pakoras here are light and crispy and really flavourful. Practically speaking, delivery is relatively prompt (considering the size of our orders!), they've never made a mistake in the order, and everything is packaged well for travel. Highly...
