We arrived early about a quarter after 5 and we were seated in a mostly empty dining room. Though it didn't take long for tables to fill up. On Saturday night I recommend a reservation I had the taster menu which consists of 5 courses. I'm not sure at this moment if the bread and balsamic sauce is counted as a course. The bread is a little bit dry The server while extremely polite and knowledgeable about the specials. He seemed to struggle a little and needed help from another server to decide where to seat people. The first course came on a platter with brochette pesto and other goodness. As it arrived to the table the smell was amazing. Calamari was slightly tough but had a great flavor and was seasoned very well. I don't typically eat tomatoes but the tomato brochette tasted fresh and invited my taste buds to enjoy tomatoes in a way I never have in my fifty years. I did notice some chips and cracks in the serving platter. The next course consist of linguini pesto , spaghetti trattoria and pene roset Served on heated plate. The spaghetti has a nice spicy kick. My partner was not thrilled with the pesto and found the p4ne to be her favorite. I found the pesto lacking slightly though I cannot decide what it lacked. It does add a coolness to the mouth after eating the spaghetti. It's unfortunate that they used store bought Parmesan cheese. Fresh Parmesan would have been better. Next was a salad that we think was meant to be Cesar and a fennel with vinaigrette I personally don't drink but I did notice an extensive wine menu. Much of the dining room appears to be place to store wine. There are cabinets and shelves throughout that give the impression of a strong connection with both red and white wines.

Tried the 5 course tasting menu, everything was extreme tasty! Started off with a platter of appetizers (calamari and bruschettas), followed by a trio of pastas and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette salad that led to a surf n turf entree of grilled lamb, chicken, prawn with veggies and ending with a classic tiramisu with an an apricot purée twist ! 😋🤤 Everything was very well seasoned and delicious! I’ve lived in maple ridge my whole life and for some reason I never thought to visit this restaurant lol. Now that I’ve moved to Burnaby, I’ll have to make an effort to visit here again the next time I venture back to MR The wait time between each dish was a bit long, our entire meal took 3 hrs so one star off for that. Also we told our server we wanted to take home our leftovers but he forgot to pack them up and we forgot to ask about it as we left, would’ve been nice as we had a bit leftover that we would’ve love to finish off the next day 😫😩🥺😢 Overall, a great experience at a MR landmark!

I can’t say enough good things about Trattoria restaurant. The service was warm, friendly and welcoming. They placed the napkins in our lap and brought out focaccia bread and oil which was lovely. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and the batter was perfect, seasoning spot on, and the dipping sauce was divine (I think homemade). The main course was phenomenal. I ordered the Gnocchi Russa and couldn’t have made a better selection. The gnocchi was perfectly tender, and the sauce was the ideal balance of cream and tomato. I ordered a cocktail which was perfectly poured. The ambience was romantic with very Italian-style finishings, and romantic Italian jazz to fit the mood. The restaurant was spotless and the washrooms were pristine. I will most definitely return.

We took my mom here for her birthday birthday in May and I have to say I was rather disappointed in the service. I'll start with the good they we're extremely nice and I could tell that the lady was working very hard to make everything go smoothly....

However we did not have her as a server. We had a man and he was extremely unhelpful.

When ordering he did allow my mom to order a dish she had there before that was not on the menu but as for me I wanted a pasta on the side of my chicken breast the menus say I'm allowed to but when I asked he told me I was not. It would of been fine except for the fact he walked away without me completing my order...

He didn't come back to our table for a hour. When he did he brought bread my mom is gluten free so we asked for a gluten free and another hour later gluten free bread was brought to the table. He then said he couldn't bring another balsamic vinegar plate for her to dip her bread into she would have to use the one contaminated with gluten..... she didn't trust that.

About 30 minutes after that our appetizers arrived.... and we're extremely small for the price and I felt bad for it but I literally had to spit one out (probably a personal thing it just tasted like dirt to me)

Probably 40 minutes after that our main courses arrived and to no surprise they we're small for the price. I didn't enjoy my chicken at all I think it had a weird taste (once again probably just personal preference)

Roughly 3 and a half 4 hours after arrival we left and went to McDonalds as I was still starving.

My mom has been here before and said its not usually that bad but it was my first time and will be my last due to...

We went to La Trattoria for the first time tonight. After being seated we immediately ordered our appetizers as we were quite hungry. We waited upwards of 20 minutes to get the complimentary bread and the appetizers followed 20 minutes after that. The bread was tasteless but the appetizers were good. I ordered the cannelloni and my boyfriend ordered the veal with a side of cannelloni. The food took 45 minutes and when it came, the server said "I'm not sure if I rang this in properly, but you wanted the pork tenderloin, right?" to which he said he did not. She added that she thought it was wrong, and she meant to ask for clarification, but didn't. She said "I can get you a dessert or I can give you some money off next time". She didn't bother to ask if he was okay with this mistake, instead, she put down the plates and walked off??

The food itself was awful. After we choked down our meal, the other server came to collect our dishes and sarcastically commented "I can see you really didn't like that, hey?" and my boyfriend replied pointedly that we were starving.

Our original server came back and asked what he thought about the pork and he said unfortunately it wasn't for him. She asked him if he wanted a dessert and he declined and asked for the bill. When she came back, she said "Sorry, I knew that wasn't right, I should have asked you". At this point we were over with the experience and felt we were being pressured by the staff to feel okay with the mistake, so we said hey, mistakes happen. The part that tops it off, was that when she came back with the bill she said "I took the pop off for you" ...... great.

Horrible food and service....
