Conflicted review. The park is a lovely space in the heart of Maple Ridge, frequented by friendly locals and families. Home to seasonal events and a farmer's market, it's a great space. However, mid-week and on quiet weekends it's plagued by the homeless, some of whom are fairly unpleasant characters. I work nearby, and when it's sunny, usually have my lunch in the park, but more recently I've been put off purely because I've witnessed some disgraceful acts of public indecency. I do like the structures all around the park, like the bandstand, the fountain signs that is flowing fluorescent water and the stone memorial cross. Read moreMemorial Peace Park is right in the heart of downtown Maple Ridge, and it really feels like the community’s gathering spot. The open green space is well-kept, with fountains, gardens, and plenty of benches to sit and people-watch. It’s surrounded by the Leisure Centre, City Hall, and the ACT Arts Centre, so there’s always some activity nearby. The park often hosts markets, festivals, and community events, which makes it lively, but on quieter days it’s also a nice place for a stroll or a break. Parking can be a bit tricky during events, but transit access is good. It’s not a big park, but it’s central...
