Can I just say that this burger joint is opened by a family who's watched me grow up since high school and they started out as a Bento Box service at Woodside Square back then. I cannot believe I reunited with them once again many years later to see that they upgraded to a burger chain! They all seem to recognize me too and they always have time to chat with me when they aren't busy! I got to meet their son who is in charge of the cashier and it's always a pleasure to know that the father is the one in charge of kitchen duties! He's in charge of making all the food and the wife is in charge of taking down the orders and making the drinks! They truly do remember all their customers' faces and they are always so approachable and lovely to be around! I highly recommend their burgers, especially on the infamous beet burger! Their classic burger bun is always a wise choice as well! The crispy shrimp burger was one of the first things I ever tried from their menu ever since I saw an Instagram video promo about opening! They added more things onto their menu and I love how they always try new ideas! Their iced coffee is a definite recommend!~ Their consistency in making and prepping the food is #1! It's not much of a long wait and the food is nice and fluffy and warm! :D I really always try and service their burger joint whenever I have time to grab a bite to eat at First Markham Place! Their regular coffee is also good! I find it affordable and big portioned. Very nice! The only thing I don't like is the atmosphere because it's opened at the food court area and it can get super chaotic and loud for my ADHD and autism, but if I find a quiet corner or a place without many customers sitting near me, I'll be okay. It can't be helped, so it's okay! Opened in a food court area means a lot of people come and go and service this place! That means business is blooming! I hope they flourish as a business more and more everyday and last long! Always...
Read moreLocated at the First Markham Place food court. Gotta give them props for having the cajones to open up a burger/poutine place in an Asian food court.
Been to First Markham Place food court more times than I can count, always went for their great Asian food selections but noticed this kiosk in the corner and decided to YOLO it based on previous reviews.
Skeptically I ordered the crispy shrimp burger combo (choice of fries or salad, drink, $1 extra for ice lemon tea). Took approx 10 mins to cook up my order.
Nice husband and wife operation
Choice of either their original, charcoal or beet bun. Went with their original bun which was covered in sesame seeds. Bun was fluffy and moist.
As Charlie Sheen would yell "winner, winner, shrimp burger dinner". Ladies and gents, we have a hidden gem. Instead of expecting the normal minced dense rubbery shrimp patty wrapped in a thick flavorless coating when ordering a shrimp burger, you get a nice thick fluffy soft moist chopped shrimp patty in a light coating giving it a nice crunchy crust. Seriously, no other shrimp burger can be compared to this gastronomical delight.
Combined with the lettuce, mayo, onions, bun a perfect flavorful alternative to the normal hamburger.
The char siu and crispy roast pork will have to go to the back of the line for today
Btw, their fries are hand cut...
Read moreThis place was suggested by a friend and it was amazing! I got the crispy shrimp and my boyfriend for the crispy chicken. Both were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My boyfriend usually doesn't like getting chicken as to make it tender, sometimes it's still a little raw inside, but it was not the case here! Even though we got it for takeout, the food was still very hot and fresh when we got home.
Their combo can be upgraded for an extra cost for either size of the poutine. The poutine was an amazing portion and pretty good as well. The gravy was different from the usual gravy so it took a little getting used to but it was still great! I got the bacon and corn poutine and also the pulled pork one and they did not skimp on the topping. The bacon was thick slice bacon too, not the bacon crumbs. The combo also comes with iced tea or iced coffee and both were great. The coffee could be a little stronger but it was creamy and not too sweet so we'll be getting it again.
They are located in the food court and for a food court stall, it was very clean and service was amazing!...
