Edit to respond to owner:
Not everyone who gives a poor reviews wants any free product from you but I WOULD be happy to give your business a call during your opening hours to discuss with you the possibility of taking a customer service course? Happy to offer it to you. But not for free of course 😂
New idea for a pizza that might help your business and absolutely disgusting attitude : HUMBLE PIE
Hope whatever makes you so angry to respond to customers and reviewers the way you do gets better. It sounds like you’re having a hard time 🙏🏼
Was super excited to order from here as I’ve heard from several friends it’s the best pizza place! I have to say I WILL NOT EVER eat here and I’ve also told all of my friends and family who have been customers in the past to do the same. I wanted to check online to see the different types of pizza they offer to see what to order and was also considering ordering multiple pizzas for my daughters upcoming party!
I stumbled across the reviews for this place and usually ALWAYS try out a restaurant for myself because everyone’s opinions are different. So it’s not the poor reviews that got me. It’s the disgusting attitude from the so called owner. PISS POOR ATTITUDE. PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Absolutely disgusting the way he treats people with any kind of negative review. As somebody who has worked in restaurants and in customer service for over half of my life and who also manages a customer service team, I am absolutely appalled at the disgusting way this man (for lack of a better word) speaks to paying customers.
Slice of fire? More like slice of hell! Jake, or whatever your name is, as I couldn’t quite understand the woman who answered the phone, you will be much better off if you learn how to take constructive criticism and respond to your paying customers with a little RESPECT.
Lastly, I see everyone complaining about the new pepperoni. It’s completely fine if you had to change the pepperoni for whatever lame reason you came up with; however, maybe don’t post a picture to your Instagram account on FEBRUARY 24, 2024 of the Peppe on Fire and then have the absolute AUDACITY to go off on people and tell them the pepperoni changed a year ago. Perhaps with a better attitude (and better pepperoni) you could afford to take some new product shots.
Some food for thought from a would have...
Read moreWhen I heard through the grape vine that there was a new contender for best pizza in town, we got the gang together to settle the debate.
Slice of Fire is a small pizzeria that popped up along Main Street Markham a few months ago. Though there is some seating, take heed that it's rather limited, so don't expect to bring your softball team. Also, if it's the middle of the summer, maybe think twice if you're on a first date, or trying to stay generally not sweaty. Since they've got the ovens blasting making pies, they forego air conditioning instead opting for an open door and a natural breeze.
On to the pizza! First of all, don't disrespect these pies. If you can enjoy them hot & fresh in store, do it. If not, make it your top priority to eat them promptly when you get the opportunity. I'm told Slice of Fire is entirely family run, and you can taste the love in the pies. Don't be rude. We ordered three pies: the Honey Pork Belly, the Magma, and the Chipot le beef. My personal enjoyment of each of these pies follows the same ascending order. The Honey Pork Belly started with an ultra fresh tasting upgrade on the familiar Hawaiian pizza standard. Then came the Magma with a wonderfully simple, yet satisfying pairing of whole button mushrooms with chorizo & capicola. And we topped things off with Chipot le beef, featuring hearty meatballs, smoked bacon, marjoram, and a taste and visually stimulating chipotle sauce.
Aside from great pizza, the service reminds you that you're at a family run business. They'll take care of you and treat you in way that shows how much they care about their product.
So do these powerful pies take the cake for best pizza in town? Well yes, they're literally "the best pizza in town". That is to say that I've had better pizza in the GTA, but as far as Markham goes, Slice of Fire takes my current top spot.
I've been itching to head back to try their Pesto Chick, but until then I'll remain quite the fan of Slice of Fire. Great pizza....
Read moreI really want to like this place. The pizza is pretty good, the guy who was working the front desk was really nice, and I like the overall vibe of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, when a medium pizza costs $40 after tax......it's really hard to leave a good review.
The pricing and sizing scheme for this place honestly makes no sense. You have only 2 options: medium and extra large. For all the meat pizza's the medium is priced at 33 dollars before tax for just the medium pizza alone. I'm sorry but this is not a 33 dollar pizza. I know times are tough and everything is expensive but even so this is an exorbitant price for a single medium pizza. I don't want to make unfair comparisons but my go to pizza places which produce comparable pizzas are usually selling 2 mediums for that price. I've had a Michelin Star Pizza in the most expensive part of the bay area in california for less money (currency conversion included). I would have been able to maybe set this price thing aside if there was a small, and large options to kind of soften the blow but only medium at 33 and an extra-large at like 42 is kinda absurd.
Price aside. While the pizza was good, I had the sweet italian and the sausage was a little too much. It's dry so having too much of it kinda hurts the experience, and putting the pepperoni on top of an already topping crowded pizza is a rookie mistake as it just kinda falls off the top. Typically pepperoni is placed under the cheese if it's a crowded pizza to prevent it from sliding off among all the other toppings.
I do really appreciate the halal options, there is a whole row of halal meat options and that's really great to see and had I not been hit with the price tag I may have come here to give it 5 stars just for that. I want this place to do well, which means I have to be a little harder on it. Sorry it has to...
