I've been to this location just about 6 times now. Looking back, I notice that I've been there during the weekends either lunch or dinner time. Usually when I walk through the main doors with my family, there's nobody there to greet you even when the resturant is busy or not busy. Ok I lied, there was this one time when the hostest was there to greet my family at Swiss Chalet and it happened during my first visit at their grand opening. Anyways, the other times there was no one there and we had to wait about an average of 3mins to get noticed and be acknowledge that someone will seat us down, even though it felt like 10mins. Once seated, it does take a while for the servers to come around to ask for drinks or even place an order for food. When me and my wife are waiting for service, our conversation starts out by picking the flaws of the of the resturant. We talk about the slow service, we talk about the number of staff, we talk about if the manager is helping or is he just standing there over seeing whats happening, we talk about how the floor is always slippery and we talk about how the lighting inside the resturant is dark and we also talk about how crowded and fast services that customers get when they're at Harvey's adjacent to swiss chalet. Honestly, you must be patient to dine in there. There are a few things I like about this swiss chalet location. I like the chicken, especially when they run out of dark meat and give me white meet for the price of dark meat. This usually happens when there is large volume of customers ordering the two can dine for $9.99, $10.99, $11.99 or whatever $_.99 dark meat special. I also enjoy the roast beef, the pasta, spinach and dip, and any type of salads. Dont get the ribs cuz its chewy and hard, theyre never soft or melt like butter when they suppose to fall of the bone. Dont get the chicken wings cuz they are over priced for the small sized wings and there is not of meat to eat it as a meal it self. Anyways I hope this reveiw...
Read moreI hate to write this but I have been going to this particular location for years and the one day I decide, let me go in and order take out, I saw something pretty disgusting and disturbing in the kitchen. While waiting to be served I saw a woman in the back putting together multiple take out orders disregarding the use of a utensil and decided to use her hands to distribute the fries and bun in each box. I asked to speak with her and she said this is common and she washed her hands so it was ok to continue to distribute the food using her hands. I told her my concern and while I was leaving, she went right back in to continue the orders. Now this is my problem. 1) For hygiene reasons and to avoid any potential contamination, it's best to use utensils or tongs when serving food. 2) when she came to the address me she put her hands on a communal counter where people and money mix, she took her stance with her hands on the counter and when we were done talking bc there was no way I was buying food there again, she went right back to food handling WITHOUT washing her hands. 3) this woman was not kitchen staff OR a waitress, she told me SHE WAS THE OWNER!! THE OWNER OF THIS FRANCHISE TOLD A CUSTOMER ITS OK THAT SHE HANDLES FOOD THE WAY SHE DOES BC SHE WASHED HER HANDS BUT DIDNT WASH THEM WHEN SHE TOUCHED ALL THESE DIRTY SURFACES AND WENT RIGHT BACK TO HANDLING PEOPLES TAKE OUT ORDERS. Not only am I DISGUSTED, but I’m truly disappointed. This location was so close to me and it makes me sick knowing their food handling is so terrible. Tbh it’s Swiss chalet for Pete’s sake, can’t they afford utensils to serve food instead of being an animal and digging their hands into a bowl of fries to be...
Read moreWe ordered the chicken leg but it was not properly cooked as the chicken is still light red. So, we told the server about this and she said they will just replace the chicken and we thank her for giving us new chicken. Then there was a lady who served the chicken as replacement from the previous one and she said this is your replacement of chicken and just so you know the chicken that was first served to you was cooked! (in a rude manner) Then my husband said how can the chicken be well cooked if the color is still light red and I can't eat partially cooked chicken. She replied, I'm just saying it was cooked as we cook all of our chicken for 45mins and you can check your chicken now if this one is okay with you.
This was our first time to dine in Swiss Chalet and yet we encounter this kind of service and for sure this will be our last. The first server was nice as she brought the chicken plate to the kitchen and return to us saying that they will just replace it but the other server who brought the new plate of chicken was rude.
You can say your thoughts courteously to the customer and there's nothing wrong with that but on she handle us was a bad experience for us.
*The picture shown is the new chicken plate(replacement) that was served there are still some pink but we just didnt complain about it to argument and we didnt...
