Was going to take pics of the food but honestly...it smelt too alluring.

We got 3x almond chicken...one of Hats many masterpieces...

Ginger beef - no, NOBODY ELSE MAKES BETTER GINGER BEEF

Beef and broccoli - very good. The veggies are superb, beef is take it or leave it...

Helpful hint: If you're looking for true flavor, order Hats own fried rice. You can taste the decades of mastery in their rice.

The chicken, beef rices are normal almost lacking

...avoid the chicken mushroom rice. It's weird. Mushrooms were under done. Not much else going for it.

Go with the chefs best-Hat Special Fried rice, save beef or chicken for the kids..

Like over 40 years of perfection-and after coming back to town and not trying Hat's for over 10 years, I'm pleased to say, they are as good. If not better.

They can understand our Alberta drawl yet are authentic Chinese.

Can you imagine being born Chinese and have to answer the phone at Hat's? They are aces at communication.

Just finished with what they say to order if you are not sure...

Dont get a Dinner for 'x' - order the dish and get it as it's meant to be. Big difference.

The smorgasbord is still good too which is much cheaper. It is everyday till 8pm.

Hat's is not cheap. But they are good and fast. See attached menu. Expect to spend $75 if ordering for 2-3.

Best Chinese in town?

So had a over night stay in Medicine Hat to have truck maintenance done! Was told that Hat Chineese was the best place to get Chineese food from! So placed an order for pick up! We had request lots of soya sauce, plum sauce and forks , plates etc due to being in a hotel! When picking up I explained I wanted to make sure they gave the extras and plates cuz we were in a hotel and it was about a 20 minute drive! I never in a million years thought I should have opened every package to make sure our complete food order was there but I SHOULD HAVE! To our surprise when we returned to our hotel we found part of our order was not there!

So we called and right off the hop the girl suggested we were lying cuz she was sure she saw them. Then we were told we could come back and pick them up, we said no deliver them bc it is your mistake! I was told they cannot deliver just that and we could pay $6.00 for a delivery!

What the hell happened to customer service! They were sure to get their money and FYI over priced and over rated and now with the lack of customer service will be one that is never visited again! We will be sure to spread the word to all our transporter buddies that pass threw Medicine...

I have to admit that when I was invited to eat CHINESE food at a restaurant named HAT'S RESTAURANT and saw their logo was a COWBOY HAT, I had my doubts about what I would see inside.

I am SO GLAD that I came here! It is a buffet with fresh food and tons of variety. You won't find old food sitting here as you might in other buffets. In fact, they had a whole turkey that they allow the customers to carve up themselves.

Even though it is a buffet, our server was on top of serving us. She refilled our drinks or hot water multiple times and cleared our dishes quickly. She was quite impressive.

The interior is a bit dated, but it works. The price for buffet is reasonable too.

The super long meridian on the street in front means you have to travel a ways after seeing the restaurant, then loop back through the parking lot. Don't Worry your Google map is not wrong.

PRO TIP- Careful when backing out. I noticed csrs seem to drive a bit quickly through this lot.
