Riverside Fries — Restaurant in Merrickville-Wolford

Stopped in to try some fries while passing through Merrickville. What a great little spot! Homemade egg role was nice. And the fries were outstanding!… Which is saying a lot coming from me, as I’m very picky about good French fries. Friendly service. Generous portions. Cute little place in a lovely location. Can’t wait to go back for some more fries!!

Update: Sept. 28/24 - I’ve tried going back to The Chip Witch three times since my first visit. Each time it was closed, despite hours listed on Google saying it was open. And I’m not talking about arriving shortly before closing time. I was there today at 4pm and hours posted on Google said they were open until 6pm. Such a drag. Great fries - if you happen to find the place actually open. After three disappointments, I won’t be wasting...

I was contemplating having ice cream in our Merrickville visit but decided to try the chip Witch instead. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. Not set up to run and operate a business in the modern era. Cash only or you can email money transfer them. It’s a kids lemonade stand operation. In 2021 and post covid, being cash only is the dumbest most irresponsible thing a business can be. Asking customers to email money transfer because you’re too cheap to pay the 2% is dumb and bad business. Deserves to go out...
