Come to McDonald’s in Merritt all the time I always get a coffee I’m a truck driver, I see the signs on the door that say two people max in the building and kiosk only,I go to the kiosk I order my coffee ,asked me how I want to pay, I say cash at the counter, It prints my receipt I go to give it to the counter, they tell me you have to use the kiosk ,I said I did I have the receipt right here, oh we’re not excepting cash, Of course I didn’t bring my wallet , she says it’s on the door I look as it does not say here that you’re not excepting cash. Then I go outside and there’s a fellow eating his lunch and I’m kind of ticked , he asked me what’s up I said they’re not excepting cash in there, then he proceeds to tell me well I went through the drive-through and they took my cash and he was on a motorcycle, so how is excepting cash from the drive-through safer than excepting cash inside the building, they have the barrier right in front of the tills .I was at the McDonald’s in Kamloops earlier,I was able to use the kiosk and pay at the counter why is this McDonald’s different, there is no logic in what they’re doing taking cash in the drive-through and refusing to take my money inside and turning me away. I’ve been going to this. McDonald’s for over 10 years I come from Manitoba every week,If they would’ve put a sign not excepting cash on the door I would i’ve turned around,But not excepting cash at the counter with the barriers up and excepting cash at the drive-through is a illogical, making me use the kiosk that everybody’s touching how is that keeping me safe ? because I didn’t see anybody come up behind me to disinfect that board. If you want to be safe , you can’t do things one way and do things the other way you have to do it all the same ,so for me it’s not so safe using the kiosk ,If they were really concerned they would’ve had somebody standing at The kiosk keeping you 6.6 feet away and taking your order. if you’re going to take cash from the drive-through you shouldn’t discriminate taking cash from the counter, it’s not any safer taking it from the drive-through. Really got turned off by that because I actually parked far away and had to walk there, needless to say I left unhappy and no coffee. Probably won’t go there for a long time they didn’t seem to care. I did have McDonald’s in Salmon arm last week give me a free coffee because they said they weren’t excepting my order through the drive-through but he said he would buy me a coffee since I was standing there and I was a truck driver. So the manager in Merritt could’ve went that route and then I would’ve been just fine , But her lack of wanting to satisfy a customer is missing, Since there was no sign saying not excepting cash inside but we’re accepting cash outside for some reason,I’m sure the two dollar coffee would not made them go broke, not trying to get a free coffee because I had the money for it, But that’s the difference from a good manager and a really...
Read moreMcDonald's is pretty low on the food chain when it comes to places I'll choose to eat when I need a quick bite, that being said I still expect that if I do choose to eat there I can be pretty much assured to get what I expect. Unfortunately tonight's experience was not what I'm used to from the Merritt McDonald's.
Things that made it a bad experience: » The manager audibly belittled the staff on two occasions while we were waiting in line, it was subtle, yet enough to make both my wife and I feel uncomfortable.
» Getting home to realize that one of the three Quarter pounders we ordered (and yes this is for the store manager to confirm that those of us that take the time to call in, also write reviews) had a hair that was 4-6 inches long wrapped in the tomato and somehow in the patty of my quarter pounder BLT.
» Driving across town to get dinner, only to get home and get two bites into your meal to realize you either have to eat a hamburger that had a stranger's hair in it, or drive back across town and get them to make you a new hamburger, otherwise you better hit the fridge for "plan b".
» Essentially spent $10 on a medium fries and medium soft drink (I called the manager to report the hair, but didn't ask for anything to make up for the inconvenience, interestingly enough, there was also no offer from management to resolve the situation. I am certain that had I asked, they would have gladly replaced my entire meal, but when you charge for a substandard product should your customer have to ask you to rectify the situation?)
If this was a McDonald's in any other town the rating would be one star, however this is the first appallingly bad encounter I have had with this McDonald's in the 15+ years that I have been a patron there, and I don't think it would be fair to rank solely on a negative experience. That being said it'll definitely be on the bottom of my list when I'm feeling too lazy to cook, and if there is a next order there, then I will remind them that I don't like hair on...
Read moreThis place is really only good if you're ordering the value menu items if not you could spend 20 bucks or even more on fast food
Here's what I don't like when you ask them to make something fresh and they don't I tell them time and time again I will wait whether it's 2 minutes or an hour I will wait I want fresh food if I wanted food that's been sitting there For hours I would just eat at home
When you ask for a drink with no ice and they fill it full of ice I don't like that either
I also don't like the fact that they charge for their extra sauces
If I'm spending 20 20 bucks and I ask for an extra sauce and you charge me that's not cool
Don't charge for Mayonnaise That's stupid
I understand if you order a drink and want 12 barbecue sauces that's a different story
When you ask them for an extra napkin and they only give you one after I said I need about a 1/2 a dozen napkins cause I purchased a whole bunch of hamburgers for my dogs and I want to make sure that I can wipe off the grease
They need to start bringing things back to their old-fashioned prices it's getting too expensive...
