Went tonight for my birthday, food was great, service was wonderful, no complaints. Went to use a prepaid visa which was a gift from my boss, 100.00. Was declined, waitress tried again declined. We paid by other means, no problem. Came home, called the number on the back of my visa, was told it was declined due as the card was only for 100 dollars and charge was for $114.99. I stated no, bill including taxes and an 18% tip was $95.98. I was informed that this establishment charges $19.99 fee. I was shocked as amount shown on POS stated $95.98. So I called this restaurant and spoke to manager, Matt, he didn’t seem to care, stated that would be a head office thing. I had to ask to leave my name and number so owner could get to me regarding this fraudulent behaviour. Very disappointed! Update, owner Andy called me explained every restaurant in North America would have an extra 20-40% added on as a pending transaction to clear. Something to do with tipping. He was well aware and explained this process with ease, and even had suggestions on how he would have made it work if someone else had no other means to pay. He was great to speak with. I wish Matt had been as knowledgeable and kind to speak with. So changing me review from 1 star to 4 star....
Read moreDinner experience started with the server coming to our table 30 seconds after we sat down to take our meal order. I hadn't even had time to pick up the menu. She insisted on coming back 3 more times all within 2 mins so needless to say, I felt rushed from the moment I sat down! My friend and I both ordered the same thing... a side caesar and the chicken alfredo. The salad came first as it should. We got no more than 4 bites and our meal showed up! It would have been great to eat my salad first; however, even the salad was mediocre at best. Huge green outside leaves, not even chopped and very little dressing. The chicken in the alfredo was cubed and tasted rubbery. The sauce had ZERO taste and everything in it tasted like it had been frozen. The meal was horrible!. I always try and support local businesses' whether a chain or not as it provides jobs to the community. I will rethink this next time that's for sure. Oh and by the way, those little plastic face shields that barely cover anything let alone the top or sides of your servers faces, yeah, those are a joke. You know there is a pandemic going on right? Perhaps get some 'proper' face coverings and do your...
Read moreStopped in for a meal with friends last night. Three couples & 3 children (under 2).
Everything was going great until the food came out - I ordered the special meatball pizza (from the small winter menu) and was brought a meatlovers pizza. When I asked the waitress if it was correct she told me yes... I doubted so I asked again a few moments later. She told me it was correct again. After reviewing a menu It was clearly wrong.
I was so hungry I ate it anyway. Just frustrating to be lied to so blatantly. And, if she believed she was correct, then some staff training is in order.
The next hiccup was our bill. Kids eat free all month. None of our bills had the kids meal removed. Then she told us we ordered something not on the kids menu. It was the kids mac n cheese.... don't know how that got messed up. Anyway the manager sorted that out for us - but only after waiting 20-30minutea for repeated wrong bills.
Overall - good food, good place for kids....
