This was our third time eating at Zanca. The first two times were great! From the service to the food, we didn't have a single complaint! I've told many people how great it was. That was over a year ago. (And yes I should have written a review then)

I thought what better place to bring my girlfriend to on mother's day. But this time was a completely different experience... As we walked in we weren't greeted with the same wonderful aroma of freshly made tortillas. And surprised that it wasn't busy at all. Especially since i called the day before to make a reservation and they made it sound like they had to squeeze us in. There were only 3 other tables occupied. Our waiter was difficult to understand and he didn't know what I ment when I asked him what beer they had on tap. He said they put a lime on top. Lmao! Food did come fast,,, but was underwhelming at best, compared to our past experiences. Nachos were greasy and didn't have any pico de Gallo salsa or pickled jalapeños. Her salad bowl had canned corn on on it, not roasted as stated. The bell peppers and onions on it were not grilled either. My tacos were a soggy mess and one was almost completely torn in half. The rice on the side was mush and the refried beans were canned. I would accept this if it were a cheap fast food place. We then waited 15min in hopes our server would come back to us so we could ask for the bill. He was a no show. Glad we weren't wanting anything else to drink I guess. I had to go up to the front to ask the hostess for the bill. And she didn't even recognize me and asked if I was here to pick up an order. Lol! There were no more than 10 customers in there, including us. We left thinking how we could have done better ourselves (for much cheaper). And also worried about the state of such a once great restaurant (one of the best in Midland). Hopefully it was just a bad day, but as of right now, I would be scared to give it...

Zanca Mexican Restaurant in Midland, Ontario, is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine! My cousin and I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The food is nothing short of spectacular—packed with bold flavors and made with high-quality ingredients that really make each dish stand out.

The service is excellent; the staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was just right. The prices are also incredibly reasonable, especially given the quality of the food you’re getting.

We were able to enjoy our meal indoors, but there’s also a lovely outdoor patio. The restrooms were spotless, and there was plenty of street parking available.

We started with margaritas, which were delicious, and then shared guacamole and chips to start. I had the Beef Barbacoa tacos, which were bursting with flavor, while my cousin went for the taco bowl, which she absolutely loved. To top it all off, we indulged in some mouthwatering churros—definitely a must-have when you visit!

Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Zanca Mexican Restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch Mexican dining experience in Midland. You won’t be...

Zanca is an absolutely MUST TRY!

We had an amazing taste experience at Zanco's. Staff were awesome, and service was fairly quick for dine-in. Drinks were made well, food was great.

Be warned; Entree portions are very generous.

We chose the Chicken Taquitos for a shared appetitizer. They were served with a guacamole & sour cream side. They were punched up with some hot sauces and a full on mouth explosion.

We chose two Entrees, and probably should have chosen one to share. There was so much food!

The Taco Nortenos with beef were damn good. Stuffed & fried, with two side options (out of five), you can pretty much customize your meal for any Mexican lovers palate.

Chimichangas- Chicken, I only had a small bite; though this was impressive just to look at. The size of a large plate & absolutely massive, the flavour combination was so delicious.

We wrapped up with the best Churros we've had in years. Absolutely delicious, hot, sweet, and a perfect finish to a great diner experience.

If you haven't eaten here yet, you are missing out, we left full and happy, and will for...

First time experience.. catching up with 2 girl friends. Waitress was fun and awesome. We started some chips, cheese dip (it was awesome.. a couple of of said ummm when we tasted it) fresh salsa and guaoc. I had the lime marguarita, virgin... it was full of pucker and huge.. a friend had the raspberry virgin and she agreed, delicious.. the third had a mojito.. I had the divorce something or rather with salad and rice as sides. It was good, I've never had Mexican before so nothing to compare it to. The other friend has the same as me and the third had a burito with beyond meat. None of us were able to finish our meal. The waitress was awesome at figuring out what to order. My only complaint, but only because we planed on spending the evening, was the food came while we were still enjoying our chips. The resaurant was very busy for a Tues evening, some people left because there were no tables left. That said, there are many restaurants open on mon or Tues in the neighbourhood.

On the upper portion of Midland's main street (King St.) Zanca is one of the new restaurants in Midland and offers a great assortment of traditional Mexican style cuisine (something missing in Midland for a long while). There is a small street side terrace (where we sat) but a much larger interior of a number of banquettes lining one wall opposite the kitchen area. The entire eatery is decorated in a potpourri of Mexican items, including a number of posters describing the origins of elements of Mexican culture (like Corona Beer or the Margarita)...see photos for examples. We did not end up ordering a lot, just nacho (very good), guacamole (very fresh and tasty...excellent) and a tortilla soup (also very good)...so it is not a fair shake at what they can do but overall it had a good vibe and what we sampled was encouraging. Service was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a visit while in Midland. Enjoy!

I've waited a long time for Midland to have another Mexican restaurant and very happy Zanca came to town. It's easily my favorite restaurant in Midland. The food is authentic Mexican with huge portion sizes, especially the kids meals (and a great price). My favorite dish is their Tacos Nortenos, but all of their food tastes great. The prices are also cheaper than I expected for how much you get. The restaurant itself is charming and the owner is super nice. Our food always comes quick even when they're super busy. Bottom line: The food is amazing and the service is friendly. You'll definitely walk away full and satisfied!
