Mama Mila's Cafe — Restaurant in Milton

I was hungry and in the mood for a sandwich but wanted something with a more homey feel than subway or firehouse. I looked on uber and Mama Mila's had excellent reviews so I decided to give them a shot. I decided that in order to get a true feel for the quality of the food, I would need to try a few items on the menu.

Both the Reuben (on Rye) and the Philly Cheese steak where highlighted as "popular" picks on uber eats so I decided to get both. however, in my humble opinion you can usually tell the quality of a place by how they make their tuna sandwich (it's easy to get wrong, often too bland and flavorless or too wet). so I ordered the tuna sandwich on ciabatta.

The food arrived quickly and was nice and hot. The breads where perfectly toasted and all three sandwiches were neatly crafted (no sloppy spill over - it was very pleasing to the eye).

I thoroughly enjoyed the Rueben (as I expected based on previous reviews) - the right blend of savory with only a hint of tang, completed nicely with the side pickle. I also enjoyed the Philly steak, the meat was not chewy or slimy (like other places do) and the mix with the sautéed peppers was nice.

however it was actually the tuna sandwich that stole the show for me. it was absolutely delicious. everything you'd want in a tuna sandwich. the crispy toasted ciabatta provided a nice texture which complemented the tuna very nicely. the cheese was not overdone and didn't overpower the dish, rather it added a slight suggestion of sharpness that elevated the whole meal.

Mama Mila's has been a local favorite for 10 years now. They serve the most fresh, delicious, drool- worthy sandwiches in the GTA! I highly encourage to try the Meatball Sub, Philly Cheese Steak, BLT, Cucumber Sandwich, or South Western. The soups are absolutely delicious as well; the chicken noodle, and dill pickle are an all- time favorite. Everything is home- made, from scratch. To add, the hot chocolate is remarkable and the cappuccinos, lattes and coffee are perfection.

Lastly, Mila and Ron are the most passionate, personable, and hardworking business owners I know. They truly care a lot about their customers; making sure each order is perfectly completed; from the taste to the portions, to the presentation. They also always have a smile on their faces, greeting you as you walk in. It truly feels very welcoming; I can sit at Mama Mila's all day!

Oh my goodness 🤯!!! The meatball sandwich is friggin delicious. The bun is toasted to perfection. When you bite down you hear the crunch from the warm toasted bun. The next taste or sense, you get is the amazing tomato sauce. The tomato sauce is served in a small container on the side, you pour the sauce on the warm meatballs. The homemade meatballs are mouth watering, warm and hearty.😋🤤 If it couldn't get any better, Mama Mila puts delicious cheese on top. My mind is blown out of this town. It is that good!! The owners are doing it right. The other day I was in the area and decided to get take out instead of delivery. OMG!! So kind and friendly. They are doing it right. The 2 owners are so very careful, even more so now with COVID-19. I have family members with pre-existing medical condition, I am so happy to order food from them. Everything here is absolutely delicious, what ever you get I am sure you will love. Thank you so much...
