This restaurant has gone downhill lately. There was a bad smell outside the restaurant and we decided to sit inside. It was very hot, but we weren't even offered water (usually they always did)! I ordered Casadilla, Calamari and broccoli and cheese soup. The portion of soup was much smaller than what we had ordered before in this restaurant. Casadilla was served with spoiled salsa. The dishes and cutlery were dirty. There were a lot of annoying flies flying around inside the room. Calamari was served with a terrible smell of ammonia, which I smelled as soon as the order was brought. I didn't even try the dish with the smell, I immediately refused it. The waiter and manager said that it was ok, since it was seafood and they can smell like that and they agreed to return me only 50% of the money for spoiled Calamari). Of course, I said that it was not ok, that seafood with the smell of ammonia cannot be eaten, it is spoiled and harmful to eat and demanded a refund for this dish. The manager began to argue with me for a long time, that seafood and other food ( salsa souse) had undergone food inspection and everything was fine, so they cannot refund my money. Then another restaurant man came and began eat Salsa sauce to show me that it is not poison). I was very angry with such behavior of the restaurant. In the end, after a long argument, they still returned the money for the Calamari, saying that they would have to pay for me. This is the first time in North America that I have encountered such a situation, when they do not want to refund money for an obviously spoiled product! I think this is very impudent! I am very upset that the quality of food and service have deteriorated greatly(. DO NOT GO THERE! SEAFOOD WITH AMMONIA MEANS THAT THE PRODUCT IS SPOILED AND IT IS...
Read moreWe tried this lovely Cafe restaurant and lounge based of photos of the food and the positive reviews. We went on one of the busiest times (valentines day) and would like to say Akash (manager) was on his toes making sure patrons were taken care of in a timely and friendly manner. It was very busy and you could see how hard he was working to give people a great experience. We waited at the bar which we did not receive and service unfortunately. Shortly we were seen to our table where we were soon helped. There were hearts on the table and a great price for a 2 person meal each with entree and 2 shared items. We opted for other choices we had picked out which we were very impressed with. The cob salad tasted very good paired with the bbq chicken and mustard seed vinegrette. The only issue was there was some shell on the egg (which was replaced no issue) and was just one and small egg. The salad had plenty of goat cheese and crispy bacon that kept me coming back for more. The bbq sauce was sweet and tangy on the chicken which we enjoyed. The sandwich which was also ordered had tender prime rib and we added our vingrette dressing from the salad which went very well. It was hot and the bread tasted fresh and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The French fries came out first which I'm sure the kitchen was very busy...however were cooked well done (which we LOVED) and the beef gravy to dip was mouth watering...beer was cold and refreshing, the mango martini was a miss but the red sangria made up for it with its infused fruits and smooth finish. It was a bit cool as it was very cold outside and its high ceilings allow for air flow. We will be coming back to try out the breakfast as we were very happy with the pricing and delicious food...
Read moreThe quality and preparation of the food has been disappointing to say the least and has steadily decreased in our past couple visits. My wife took our kids for breakfast, after the waiter took their orders they came back and said bad news there’s no bacon. Now for one I believe running out of bacon is unacceptable for a place that serves breakfast but if that is the case that is something that should be told to customers before you are seated. Either the waiter wasn’t informed prior to opening the restaurant or played naive either way it’s unacceptable. Because the kids were hungry my wife proceeded with the order and the kids pancakes came back burnt. Unless we requested for them to be well done (which we didn’t) pancakes at a restaurant should never be in this shape, especially for children. The unfortunate part is this isn’t a one off the past couple time we ordered French toast it has been runny to the point some pieces were inedible. Our last order was a pickup order on Father’s Day and the French toast was runny and bacon was left out of the order. A promise was made to credit us bacon the next time we came in and now there is no bacon in the restaurant. I find all of this unacceptable and disappointing the lack of care and planning that has taken place. Whether it is poor planning for not having something integral like bacon and not having the knowledge to know upfront we don’t have it today or the courtesy if they did know to say and be upfront. In addition the lack of care in the preparation of food especially for children shows a lack of care, will avoid this location for quite some time which is a shame because prior the quality was there but not so much anymore. To call the quality poor would be an...
