Finally Mississauga gets a good quality Chettinad / Madurai type of South Indian food restaurant. And whoever points me to any other pre-existing restaurants, all I can say is I've tried them all and your best bet outside of this restaurant is to drive 40 mins to north York or longer to Scarborough to try similar cuisine. First visit and I'm blown over by their "Arusuvai kalyana virundhu" (non-veg) version, probably the best south Indian meal I've had outside of my home in Canada or Tamil Nadu. You get chicken curry, mutton curry, fish curry (which I didn't prefer, so they offered more mutton curry instead), rasam, kootu (vegetable and lentil stew), poriyal (vegetable steamed/boiled and stir fried with mild spices), payasam (kheer), pickle, 1 medhu vada and appalam along with white rice. Also ordered a masala omelette, nattu kozhi roast as starter and lemon soda. Service was prompt. Now, to the food - the meat curries had the right consistency to go along with the white rice - do note that this is how these gravies are traditionally made back home (flowing), so if you are looking for thicker gravy, you should order off the other menu items. There was no "revenge of the curry" battle with the same gravy used for different meats as you'll see in many Indian restaurants - both the chicken and mutton gravies had their own characteristic flavors. The masala omelette took me back to the "mobile truck" of singara Chennai. The nattu kozhi roast was to the point - enough spices but not too spicy and the meat remained tender all through. Also ordered small cups of sambhar and puli kuzhambu (stew made with tamarind paste puree, without lentils). Both were of commendable taste. All of the above and more as "pros" for this restaurant. Only thing to note - space is small, probably 5x4 seat tables, so expect to wait 30 mins or more on busier days, and they were very busy with online orders (so my suggestion, order whatever you need for your table right at the get go). The 3 joint owners (husband/wife and their close friend) are indeed doing a great job in keeping this place running with high ratings in their 3 months since start up. Suggest fans of South Indian (Madrasi khana), to try this place. Will add comments on the take out food I picked up for my family (idli's, guska rice with egg, chicken pepper fry). The wall postings are pretty funny, for folks that can understand it! Overall - a highly recommended 5 star rating for the authentic food you get here. I'll be revisiting soon to try their parotta salna and other items.

Food Ordered : Chicken Biryani. Number of visits before posting this review : 4 I rarely give 5 stars to experiences but I can tell that this resurant is serious about food, atmosphere and presentation. This is a local family operated business. First of all and to the point. The food is amazing. I Prefer to eat here in person when I have the time. The presentation of the food is fantastic using a thick thali dish which gives you plenty of room on your plate. The watering jugs are always there made of this copper type material that keeps the water cold and food warm.No filmsy cookware here guys! The Dish itself (chicken biryani) was succulent chicken with perfect amount of infused spicies. Spicy but not too spicy for my palate but in all honesty I grew up eating south asian food due to my background. The dish was amazing. I kept coming back for more because at this price, the quality is unmatched around this entire block (maybe several more blocks). While sitting here enjoying my chicken biryani I see the amazing traditional art on the walls, comfortable seating and chairs and decent lighting. Overall I really like the atmosphere. Room for improvement could be more plants and some dimmer lighting. What really stood out to me in terms of atmosphere was the handwashing station present which is accessible to everyone - Personally this is a much appreciated bonus and very unique. The people who have served me have gone above and beyond. Amazing service. Keerhti was one of my servers and they were exceptional. Having such a good experience with one dish I would like to try more of there food and post more reviews. As customers I would like to remind everyone to support your local business by paying in cash. This helps the local business by not paying transactional fee to vendors you use to pay.
