I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with the manager of this franchise/ location this afternoon, albeit I did not know this at the time and only found out when I called back to speak with a manager.
When I walked in, I was the only one in the store and was the only one the entire time I interacted with this person. Jaz was on the phone. I waited while she continued being on the phone. She approached me while still on the phone. The conversation was not customer related. While still on her call she inquired as to how she could help.
My request was simple, four gift cards with its correlated gift receipts so that their receivers would not have any issues using them. She was still on her phone call as this was happening and at some point during the process of fulfilling my request she ended her call.
She handed me my gift cards, receipts and order of ice cream. I asked her if she could help me match receipt to card and or advise me on how I could identify receipt to card. She did not know and asked for it all back again. She handed to all back to me a few seconds later, telling me in a very rude tone, it’s on there and I should do it myself without actually offering any instruction on where exactly it was listed. This was done abruptly and disrespectfully, while I was still polite /respectful and if anything, just confused and seeking assistance.
Never the less, I took a few minutes to figure it out myself as she had walked away at this point and started slamming the ice cream shutters down. I wish that was the end of my interaction with her, but sadly one gift card had no gift receipt with it and so I asked her if she could hand me it or had it fallen on her side of the counter , to which she replied with she forgot to process it. I asked her if she could help me rectify this and while she did not apologize for her mistake, she told me “she could not do anything”, and to give the person the complete receipt rather than the gift receipt.
I reminded her that the complete receipt had other items and would not work as this was a gift card going to someone else. She repeated her statement about not being able to do anything. I then asked her if she could refund me and reissue a gift card with a gift receipt. She said “no”, but then said she would speak with her manager (she is the manager and does not report to anyone higher than her. Confirmed with the employee I spoke with). She comes over while on the phone, gestures for the gift card, which I hand over and then returns it back with a slip of paper that states balance left on card. She then says “that’s all I can do” and walks away towards the side/ back, slamming things as she walked in that direction.
At this point, I just wanted to get out of there. For a manager to behave in such a disrespectful non customer service way is appalling.
