while I was a huge fan of this spot (just don't eat in as there's usually a lot of intoxicated and loud people at the bar) as I've eaten here and ordered several times the past year, last night's take out was not up to par. What added to the disappointment was the fact that they now charge an extra $1 per item ordered due to COVID. Don't know why as the place is still not any cleaner and I didn't even see any hand sanitizer etc. Back to the food, the deep fried wings where are normally really crispy, flavorful and light.. was covered in a heavy batter, which became soggy (like poorly breaded fish and chips) and as the batter separated you only saw pale chicken skin (not appetizing) and the pepper wings (again normally very spicy and flavorful), was a hot mess, with no flavor nor any of the promised 'spicy". The 3 stars I give is reflected on the fact that they still do fried rice excellent. Side Note - when I asked why they were charging an extra $1 per item, the young lady pretended to not speak English (yet I heard her earlier taking orders on the phone) and mumbled COVID. Sad as I really liked the food here...

Benab Family Restaurant is a bit tucked away, just off the main strip in Mississauga, but it's worth finding if you're after a good deal on food. The pricing is very fair considering the portion sizes and quality — definitely a solid spot if you're looking to eat well without breaking the bank.

While the food was served fairly quickly (likely because it wasn't too busy when we visited), the overall service felt a bit slow and could use improvement. One thing that stood out was the cleanliness — the space could use a bit more attention, especially since we noticed some small flies around our table, which was a bit off-putting.

That said, for a hidden gem offering generous, tasty meals at great prices, it's still a worthwhile visit. With a little more attention to service and cleanliness, Benab could easily become a go-to local favorite.

Update. Fly traps in the mens washroom and flies around. Honestlynif they cant have a clean main area or washroom it makes me question their kitchen

Bought pepper chicken and chicken/shrimp fried rice on April 9, 2023. The 2nd piece of pepper chicken I grabbed had a long black hair wrapped around it. I was disgusted and disappointed to the say the least. I noticed someone in the back kitchen area with no hair net walking around (when the door swung open briefly). So process of elimination there. It was also annoying having to drive back to get my money back after settling in at home to have a meal. The fried rice was also quite greasy and coats your mouth and throat in oil. I’ve been here about a handful of times before this experience and the fried rice seemed good at first. Very unique smoky taste. The chicken wings I had on 1 of those 5 occasions tasted like old/stale chicken. So I never ordered those again. I don’t know if that’s the normal taste of their wings or if this was a one off. Needless to say we will not be going back. The fried rice was the best thing I had here but this last experience convinced me to go to somewhere else or...
