Ameens Catering is an outstanding African/ Caribbean restaurant when it comes to getting maximum satisfaction for delicious meals. I work in brampton but drive here to Ameens Catering just to get my lunch. I came today with my friend for lunch, we ordered pounds yam, jollof rice and ofada rice and the 3 meaks were right on point. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We also enjoyed the special drinks. Great food at a great price! I especially love the gbegiri and ewedu. Ameens Catering is strategically located between Huontario and Dundas, Mississauga. Reasonably priced good food and drink. Lots of dining room seating, with plenty of High Definition Screen TV's to give yo something to do after ordering. The menu favorite that keeps me coming back is the pepper soup. Really tasty, nice and hot, perfect for a winter night. Always glad that I decided to go and happy that I went. Madam Maryam was my server today. Very attentive and helpful, but not pushy. Always nice when a restaurant succeeds because of its staff and not in spite of it. The atmosphere is a little more calm and under control. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it
Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything! We had a great lunch today, and will be back again tomorrow! I’ll be sure to let you know in advance before we come again. Thanks again for all your hard work and consideration
Conclusion, if you ever find yourself anywhere around mississauga do not hesitate to give them a trial as your visit will remain ever fresh in your memory, it's less than 4 minutes drive to square one. You can also take advantage of their online delivery platforms, like skip the dishes if you are...
Read moreAmeen’s Kitchen Sunday Buffet is a Whole Experience!
I went to Ameen’s Kitchen last Sunday with my friends, and whew — I had the time (and meal) of my life! It was their buffet day, and when I say I ate a LOT, I mean it. Plate after plate — everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious.
They had so much variety! I had native rice that was loaded with meat and fish — I literally had to push the proteins aside to find the rice underneath. I also had Assam rice, Poundo with Efo, and every spoonful came with chunks of meat. They weren’t rationing anything — the food was abundant and satisfying.
There was chicken, yam and egg, bread, Moi Moi, and more. And the trays? Always full. The staff kept refilling and bringing out new dishes like clockwork.
And let’s talk about the cocktail — heavenly! That drink alone is enough to make me come back every Sunday. They also had Malt, Pulp, and Canada Dry included in the buffet. Where else do you get that? Most restaurants make you pay extra for drinks — even the Chinese ones. But not Ameen’s Kitchen.
Now here’s what blew my mind — the entire buffet was just $60. Do you know how expensive African food is these days?! At many places, one plate alone will cost you $60. But at Ameen’s, I had multiple plates, drinks, and still didn’t taste everything. That price is honestly a steal.
My friends and I have already made it official — we’re going every other Sunday after church. The ambience was beautiful, the food was unforgettable, and the value for money is unmatched.
If you’re looking for where to eat well, relax, and get true African food without breaking the bank — Ameen’s Kitchen on Sundays is it. Come hungry, leave full and...
Read moreWe called this restaurant before making the trip to confirm if the chef was truly Nigerian, as we know Nigerian chefs cook with passion and take pride in their craft. Unfortunately, the receptionist we spoke with was neither polite nor knowledgeable about the food preparation. Still, since the place came recommended by a friend, we decided to give it a shot.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the food prices posted online didn’t match the prices on the printed menu. To make matters worse, the server seemed inexplicably busy, despite the fact that we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. We placed our order at the cashier counter and then sat at a table, only to wait 40 minutes for two meals—Efo Riro soup and Ewedu soup with swallow.
The Efo Riro was an absolute disaster, served with raw chicken, while the Ewedu soup came with tough, oven-roasted chicken that could easily pass as a sledgehammer. When we brought this to the server’s attention, she offered to replace the meal, but things took a turn for the worse when the rude manager—who might as well have been running a workshop instead of a kitchen—came out. She escalated the situation instead of resolving it and refused to issue an apology or a refund for what was undoubtedly the worst meal we’ve ever had at a Nigerian restaurant in Toronto.
To top it all off, the washroom was a complete mess, as though someone had decided to take a shower there. This entire experience was beyond disappointing. If you decide to dine there just know it's at your own...
