I have tried this restaurant a couple times, hands down my new favorite restaurant in the GTA. Here's why: Great Food Good Prices per Quantity of Food One of a kind service.
The food is great, it's different from shawarma and Afghani food. My family and I ordered almost everything on the menu except the burgers and the t-bone steak - a friend of mine has tried and loved the Burgers. We loved everything we ordered - the least enjoyable thing for me was the veal chop and that was itself a 4/5. So no issues food wise.
The prices are comparable to most good quality shawarma places and Afghani food places like Bamiyan and Paramount. But here, the owner doesn't cheap out, the plates are absolutely packed with food. In Paramount and Bamiyan I can easily finish a platter on my own, but here I was struggling to finish and even had to take some food home. Definitely a big plus, value wise.
The service is my favourite part of being at this place. The owner is the server and his wife is the chef. Being of the small and intimate setting, the owner gets a chance to interact with all of his customers. During our meal, he would constantly check up on us to see if we were okay, needed anything, needed any extra bread (for which he did not charge) - extra sauce, onions, you name it. The second time my family and I went we had happened to be fasting - and as a courtesy he gave us a bottle of pop on the house. That's what you call quality service.
If you need a new place to try, go here. If you don't want to try a new place,...
Read moreWhat a worst place to visit in my entire life... Owner was running a restaurant by his own no helpers or workers, chef or servers, the restaurant was looking like a nightmare, no lighting, tables were not cleaned, furniture were not sturdy at all . Unclean place to visit. His attitude was the worst part, he was passing jokes like he was very funny, but he wasn't respectful to the guests. You are not allowed to touch the guests by tapping on their shoulders while taking the orders and checking on the guests. I called him from the kitchen to take our orders, it took him 45 minutes to cook the BBQ, it should take 15 minutes only. we were group of 12 people, everyone got the food every after 5 minutes by the time we all got the food, most of the food was cold already. He served the frozen cooked meet, chicken was like the hard rock and the Beef Chevon was smelly and looks like sitting in the freezer for many years. Salad was rotten, no taste at all. i left my half food. Your hospitality was the worst in my entire life visiting restaurants.
If you cannot serve the guests please shut down the restaurant.
I will never ever visit you again and will share my experience to all my family,...
Read moreI cannot bestow enough praise upon this establishment. This is the quintessential mom&pop hidden gem, tucked away in an obscure location that will have you second-guessing your map app. Don't let the location fool you—the place is to die for.
I visit with work colleagues frequently. The service is fantastic—the owners are lovely people, always smiling and grateful. After just a couple of visits they started to recognize us and treat us like family. If you dine in, they will set your table, bring you your food, and offer some complimentary sides (such as pickles or pickled hot peppers).
So far we have tried the following: -Chevap: It's priced outrageously low for today's market, especially considering how good it is! -Grilled sausage: also very good, has a distinct flavor (paprika?) -Burek with meat, and burek with cheese: this one is great to share with the table
There is one more item I'd really like to try, and that's the PLJESKAVICA, which seems to be a homemade beef burger. But I love the chevap so much it's hard to get anything else.
For lovers of good, homemade food, this food is home cooking that you don't...
