Beautiful bakery cafe. My husband is Italian and I love his Sicilian mom's baking and cooking and coffee... The food and drinks at this place remind me of her cooking and I like to pick up food and sweets at this store to bring home to my husband as a surprise (since we don't get to see his parents too often because they live in Windsor). I have such a love for Italy, its food and culture and all things Italian... I went into this bakery for the first time 5 months ago beaming with excitement and high expectation thinking of all of the wonderful Italians I've met. Had an espresso - bellissimo 👌👍- and sat at one of the 4-5 small cafe tables... Is a quaint, casual place to come with a friend for coffee and dessert. Reminded me of the espressos and cappuccinos in Palermo Italy when we were there. A store is special when it can make you feel like you're back in Italia. The selection of dry pastas, flours, condiments, olives, pasta sauces, jellies, jarred veggies for buying was very nice and most imported and not available at your local big grocery store. Its great for making gift baskets with original things. I was impressed and enjoyed looking around at the selection of cheeses and meats. I then went to order some Italian cookies and some meatballs and eggplant parmesan. Food was excellent but the older, short haired blonde lady serving me made me feel SO unwelcomed and like I was such an inconvenience. She was extremely rude, clearly did not want to be there, didn't speak clearly to me (she mumbled, which made me feel like she was making fun of me in front of the other ladies behind the counter) and shoved the plate at me and immediately turned away... It was my first time there, and I wasn't sure where to pay... I felt like an idiot and couldn't wait to run out of there. I thought that I was the only treated this way and I thought it was because I was a redhead and didn't look Italian... that I didn't belong and that I wasn't welcome to come back... I immediately felt extremely out of place and uncomfortable. I wasn't rude at all to deserve it. I thought perhaps she was having a bad day - we all get those - and I wasn't going to hold it against her. But then I read over 10 reviews on Google all saying the same thing about this particular lady for quite some time now...
NOTE FOR THE OWNER: PLEASE TALK TO THIS BLONDE-HAIRED LADY and offer customer service training... She is going to cause you to lose many customers.... To be honest, I had such a bad experience with this lady that I will go on the other side of town to a store at Tomken Rd and Eglinton to get my husband good Italian food and desserts (with great service!) rather than go back here. Its not fair for her to treat others like that... Its a beautiful bakery you have. I would love to shop at your bakery but wouldn't go back unless my husband absolutely insisted we go there. Its unfortunate. I feel bad for all of the longtime customers whose reviews I read that are also very displeased by this lady's customer service and will...

Bonjourno! I randomly stopped by while driving through the area. Clearly a family owned and operated place with lots of regulars. Both the standard elderly Italian guys enjoying a chat over some espresso and many others of all ethnicities. They have a fresh hot food counter which I didnt have but looked and smelled incredible. I saw them bringing the fresh food out from the kitchen as it ran out. (All the standard Italian dummies for lunch )
You can get a wonderful assortment of Italian and a couple other euro pastries and a great variety of bread. Apparently well known for their cannolies as many people were ordering them as I ate.
There are some ready made Italian sandwiches, a deli counter and predators packaged goodies.
The owner and the young lady I believe to be her daughter were both super friendly, attentive, helpful and full of smiles. I felt at home here (even as a mangacake!!) I will certainly visit again when I'm in the area. I hope and pray to see more places like this staying strong as staples of the community as the city constantly changes for the worse.

Read moreBought a cake which I was told was a tiramisu, it looked like a tiramisu too but when you cut it, you realize that it’s a fake tiramisu. I buy tiramisu all the time so I know what it should be and this one was definitely not a tiramisu. They made a thick brown cake layer which I think it wasn’t even chocolate and topped the brown cake with a thin layer of tiramisu, then used ladyfingers to hide the fakeness, ya I know you can use ladyfingers around a real tiramisu cake for decoration but this one was definitely to hide the thick brown cake layer. I don’t mind people getting creative and making fusion cakes but call it what it is! Don’t call it a tiramisu when it’s not and don’t charge me $35 for it! You people give Italian bakeries a bad name. Stop cheating! The only reason I’m giving them two stars is because the ladies at the counter and the cash had great customer service and were very friendly. I won’t be going back...
