Caven's Alley Bar — Restaurant in Mississauga

On the surface this bar appears to be your regular tavern with a pool table and small TV the place is very rundown and looks like a deserted building, Drinks tend to be over priced but hey…that’s not a big issue. Unfortunately the two bar ladies (Tanya with the short blonde hair and Janine with long brown hair) are some of the rudest staff I have had the misfortune to encounter. I was a newcomer to this establishment two weeks ago after getting invited here by some friends. I ordered a round of drinks for my friends and paid for all of these, later in the evening there were some hotdogs being served out..I’m new to this bar so I assumed they were complementary, as is the case with many other bars I know in Toronto, so I went and got a hotdog..at no point did I see any prices displayed near the hotdog stand. And a lady making the hotdogs just prepared my hot dog and I went and sat down with my friends..at the end of the evening I left. The following Wednesday I ordered a drink and paid for it and sat down with my friend’s. A lady friend who was with me went to the bar and she was treated like a criminal and refused service by Tanya bar lady with short hair, she was in absolute shock as she has never been treated in this disrespectful manner by anyone and she is a regular to this bar, that same bar lady Tanya marched out from behind the bar approached me and rudely demanded I pay for the hotdog that instant I was embarrassed in front of everyone. I am still in disbelief as to how badly me and my friend were treated. I will never return to this place. These terrible bar ladies Tanya and Janine should seek another...

Finally went to meet my soccer group on Friday night at Cawthra SS after recovering from an injury. Alas, they weren't there (re-scheduled) and so I decided to have a couple of beers at this place just down the road while watching the Leaf game. Went to pay and (after providing a tip) looked to see the bill didn't much up with what had been entered on the debit machine. I asked about this and was told it was a 'surcharge'. I asked for 'what' as well as where the charge has been posted?...it was neither on the bill or posted for customers to see. I was simply told it's a surcharge. I'm glad this happened to me as I won't be bringing my soccer buddies here for an after-session beer. A shame as it's a nice place but I don't want to have to explain an additional cost of $25-$30...

Great spot with wonderful people! The owners are very pleasant and want everyone to have a great time. I really enjoyed playing the jukebox and also hearing the bands that come in and play. The dance floor is always a good time after a few confidence building bevys! Only thing missing here is the kitchen to be open and some more girly shot options. ...
